American Horror Story Season 10 Episode 7 Review: Take Me To Your Leader

It’s a shame when such a thrilling concept is ruined by a group of 20 somethings running around like teenagers.

American Horror Story Season 10 Episode 7 — the first chapter of Death Valley — started strong but quickly fizzled out.

The series would have been wise to stick to one time period to tell this tale because the black-and-white look for the story in 1954 was actually very good.

It helped draw me into the events more, and Maria planning dinner for her husband while her son played outside, only for some extraterrestrial drama to kick off. Well, it was a lot of fun.

Obviously, the story will connect to the different time periods, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if we took a trip back to when Amelia went missing.

You don’t just go missing and return pregnant after 20 years in the wreckage of a spaceship.

Neal McDonough was perfect as this President of the United States faced with events that he never thought he’d have to deal with.

There’s an element of surprise with him because he knows the person found at the crash site is Amelia Earhart, based on the photos his wife keeps of her.

Those dorms were small. First, you know, you jack off at the same time in the dark, and then you just start doing it together, and before you know it you’re late for your Great Thinkers of Enlightenment class because you have your best friend’s d–k in your mouth.

Cal

As a result, he will be much more invested in finding out the truth.

While many other people would be laughing at the prospect of this person supposedly being the same person who went missing, the fact that Dwight knows who it turns the case on its head.

The quest for answers will not be easy, especially when you have a possessed 1950s housewife popping up and blowing people’s heads off.

Does Alien Maria have any other tricks up her sleeve, or will she just be making heads pop off every single scene she’s a part of?

Dwight will face an uphill battle to explain the events of what happened in the base. The alien having no organs yet still somehow managing to kill the two surgeons was another shocker.

Everyone watching through the glass made it even more chilling, but hopefully, the series starts to focus on substance over style.

I’m all for shock value if it helps advance the story, but we really didn’t need more heads blowing up in the first episode of the story. Some plot devices should be used sparingly, and with three episodes to go, hopefully, the show manages to take a less is more approach.

The Amelia Earhart mystery is the most compelling because the person looks like her, talks like her, and supposedly hasn’t aged a day in almost 20 years.

When you add that she’s pregnant, well, that’s a convincing storyline that should set up the final three episodes.

We know the aliens don’t fully take over the U.S. because we got to meet four annoying young adults in the second half of the episode, but what if the aliens have a bigger impact on the world than we’ve been led to believe?

World leaders being alien would be a stretch and, quite frankly, cliche, but this is American Horror Story, the most inconsistent series in TV history.

We’ll likely take a trip to other time periods, but for now, we know that everyone that has come into contact with the aliens has become pregnant — even the males.

Those half-f–king cows were f–king mooing.

Troy

This certainly leads to some big questions about the long-term plan for the aliens, but I only wish they’d picked a less annoying group of people to impregnate in the 21st century.

Kaia Gerber was one of the weakest aspects of American Horror Stories, but the star seems much more suited to the role of Kendall, who has left behind the shackles of technology in the 21st century.

Are we to assume Kendall has a magic touch that allows her to bring things back to life? The moment she touched the spliced-up cow, and it opened its eyes and mooed, well, it made me think there was more to her than meets the eye.

One thing that irked me about friendship is that they are not the sharpest people around. After such a harrowing experience, why would they not, you know, use the car’s SOS signal to alert authorities about the fact that a precision-crazy butcher is on the loose?

I know they tried after the encounter with the spaceship, but why wouldn’t they try the moment they caught up with the car?

If we’re to assume they were too concerned with escaping what they probably felt was their certain doom, then the show didn’t do a very good job of showing it off.

It makes me think that at least one member of the group has been in with the aliens or someone close to the aliens since the beginning.

There are many questions surrounding the mysterious pregnancies and how it ties into the overall theme of Death Valley.

The quartet having mysterious alien babies simultaneously will make for a wild scene, but hopefully American Horror Story Season 10 Episode 8 delves much deeper into this mystery because I’m not sold yet.

Some of the scenes were simply poorly executed, and coming off American Horror Story: Red Tide, which had five good episodes out of six, I expected better.

Okay, AHS Fanatics, what did you think of the alien invasion?

What’s your theory for how Amelia returned?

Do you think the 20somethings are truly pregnant?
