Ever since Marvel Studios dropped the trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight, the internet has been buzzing with excitement and curiosity. Now it looks like we have another look into this unique character as new merchandise gives us a better look into his Egyptian origins and design.
The character is already surrounded in mystery and ancient history, but the new shirt, which is available on Amazon, shows a detailed rendering of Moon Knight as he appears in the upcoming Disney+ series. Take a look at the picture below.
As you can see, the look contains multiple moon emblems, tying him to his lunar inspiration. The image also includes hieroglyphics, the language used by ancient Egyptians, further connecting the hero to his comic book counterpart.

In the comics, a brutal attack left mercenary Marc Spector on the brink of death lying outside the tomb of an Egyptian pharaoh. The story says that the ancient god Khonshu witnessed this, and instead of sitting back and doing nothing, the god saved Marc’s life. He saved Spector’s life by turning him into his champion and a protector of the night. The first trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studios series gave us a view into this origin story. The trailer flashed numerous Egyptian relics, statues and a mysterious tomb, as well as the ancient god himself.
In Moon Knight, Oscar Isaac plays Steven Grant, a museum gift-shop employee haunted by dreams of another life and world. In time, Steve discovers that he suffers from dissociative identity disorders and that the visions are memories of his life as Marc. As Steven begins to understand his condition, he discovers something that brings him back to Egypt, and he comes face to face with the Moon Knight persona. “It was the biggest workload I’ve ever had in my career and most challenging by the sheer amount of stuff we had to do in eight months — and even yet, I couldn’t wait to get to set and work.” Isaac said.
As Moon Knight begins to sort out what he is and where he comes from, he makes enemies along the way. One of those is portrayed by Ethan Hawke, or as we know him in the comics, Dr. Harrow. Dr. Harrow was a brilliant scientist who focused his studies on how humans deal with pain. Hawke has said that he based his performance in the series on real-life cult leader David Koresh, who used the bible and its teachings to influence his followers in the early ’90s down in Waco, Texas. Hopefully, we will get another look at the character before the series starts streaming on March 30th. Moon Knight already has fans talking about crossovers and potential cameos leading to future projects, but for now, we will just have to wait and see.
