How the 2021 F1 season is already one of the most legendary seasons ever


How we were treated in 2021, as Max Verstappen claimed his first world crown after a fierce battle with his Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton. There was a lot going on the complete F1 grid. There are eight reasons why we suppose 2021 will go down as one of the most stylish Formula 1 seasons of all time. The season also had a lot of F1 news and rumors, which are still swirling around now in 2022.

Have we seen the rise of one of F1’s most notorious rivals, like in the Senna vs Prost or the Schumacher vs Hakkinen era? According to 2021 substantiation, it’ll look like Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton contended for teeth and nails to get to the top. Verstappen was trying to win his first title and the first for a Dutch motorist. While Hamilton was trying to beat the seven title record of Schumacher and get to eighth titles.

Mercedes’ most challenging season since 2014

Mercedes went on to win eight double crowns in 2021. An extraordinary record set since the engines formula was changed in 2014 to hybrid ones. Straight from the box, however, the Silver Arrows (that’s now black) appeared not as stable during testing. The new W12 had a lot of oversteer, due to the regulation changes during, while the Red Bull RB16B appeared to be very ready for 2021.

It was a record breaking season

The 2021 F1 season, was supposed to be the longest season in history and originally had 23 races. We did saw some literal records fall. Mercedes won its eighth constructor’s title winning record. Hamilton came the first motorist in F1 history to score a century in both pole positions and grand prix (claimed #100 in Russia) the British driver finished the season with 103 wins. 

Hamilton also joined Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas as the most frequent tribune triad in the history of the game, beating the former record of 14 at Portimao, while Saudi Arabia was the 20th time the trio was on the podium. Verstappen also holds the record for the most amount of podiums in a single F1 season, with the 18 times being the one in Abu Dhabi.

We witnessed some’ instant classic’ races

We got to see some great races in 2021. Hamilton and Verstappen were having a some good fights. There was a lot going on. From a unique hassle in Baku, where both Verstappen and Hamilton failed to score after a tire drama for the former, and a ’Break Magic button’ drama for the Mercedes driver. The ultimate coming together for the pair was the Italian Grand Prix when both had to retire from the race after their famous collision at first chicane of the Monza circuit.

Grand Saudi Arabia’s track debut

2021 marks the first time for the race calendar of the magnific Jeddah Cornish Circuit and the maiden Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The track proved to be exciting for utmost drivers, who managed to stay out of the Monaco-esque walls at very high speeds.

F1 got a new winner

It’s always interesting to see a new GP winner crop in Formula 1-and Esteban Ocon became F1’s 111th winner on the Hungaroring with a fine drive. The Frenchman took the lead and kept four-time F1 champion Sebastian Vettel behind him in the Aston Martin.
