Once Charlie Sheen was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, then a period of well-documented wild and unconventional behavior saw him dropped from TV roles, and he has rarely been seen on screen in the years since. However after the release of Grizzly II: Revenge in 2020, a movie that Sheen actually made in 1983, it looks like Sheen is setting himself up for small comeback by starring in a new dramedy by the creator of Entourage. Ramble On will be one of Sheen’s first leading roles since Anger Management almost a decade ago.
For decades Sheen had the world at his feet, appearing in hit movies such as Wall Street, Platoon, and Hot Shots!, but it was his role in sitcom Two and a Half Men he is still best known for. Appearing in the show from 2003 until 2011, Sheen’s contract on the show was terminated after he made a number of comments about the show’s creator Chuck Lorre and entered drug rehab. His character was then written out of the show permanently, with the character being killed off, and continued with Ashton Kutcher as its new lead.

Now, as reported by Deadline, Ramble On will see Sheen and Entourage stars Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon attempting to reinvent their voices in Hollywood, and is based on an idea that Entourage creator Doug Ellin has been thinking of for some time. He explained:
“This idea has been spinning in my head for years and seeing it come to life is incredible. I feel beyond grateful that so many of my Entourage crew and cast members, along with some of the most talented, comedic forces in the industry, have joined us on this exciting new journey. We cannot wait to share this with the world.”

A Charlie Sheen Comeback Would Be Seen as One of The Most Monumental In TV History
While there have been many actors who have found themselves out of favor in Hollywood thanks to their behavior only to rise from the ashes of their own self-destruction, such a meteoric comeback for Charlie Sheen would no doubt be one of the most unexpected to happen in Hollywood for a long time. Over the years the likes of Rob Lowe and Robert Downey Jr. have seen their careers take off spectacularly after they appeared to have burned a number of their bridges, so could Ramble On be the first step in Charlie Sheen’s return to the limelight for the right reasons?
A decade ago, Sheen became much better known for his peculiar actions and lifestyle than any of his acting roles. Having spent a number of years getting his personal life back to some kind of normal state, it could be that now is the time for him to try and do the same with his professional one. Ramble On is currently looking for a home, and while talks to find a buyer are still ongoing, there are a lot of options currently available for new content to find a place on TV and all involved will be hoping that one of them gives it, and Sheen, a chance.
