It’s time to suit up for another violent, head-popping season of Amazon’s The Boys. Season 3 releases tomorrow, and Prime Video is getting us ready with a recap of the first two seasons, released on YouTube. Throughout the two-minute video, we see several critical moments in the show thus far, such as Ryan Butcher showing off his superpowers and the revelation of congresswoman Victoria Neuman being a supe. Check out the recap below.
For those unaware, The Boys is not your average superhero-themed show. Many of the characters with superpowers aren’t heroes at all. Instead, the show looks at what happens when these massive celebrities abuse their powers and how corporations can benefit by exploiting the abilities of the supes. The series is based on a comic book series of the same name, written by Garth Ennis and co-created, designed, and illustrated by Darick Robertson. The series ran for 72 issues from 2006 to 2012.

The tension is at an all-time high in the series following the season two finale. Ryan Butcher just used his laser vision for the first time, resulting in the death of his mother. Stormfront was severely injured; however, they didn’t show her death which means she will likely be returning. Homelander appears to be going off the deep end now more than ever, which should lead to some genuinely wild moments in the latest season. You’ll have to check out The Boys on Prime Video this Friday to see how all these problems are solved and which new ones arise.

Returning for the third season of The Boys is Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara, to name a few. In addition, we will likely see the return of Giancarlo Esposito as Stan Edgar, the CEO of Vought International and one of the overarching antagonists of the show.

A new addition to the series is Jensen Ackles, playing the role of Soldier Boy. He is a supe who served during World War II, with the specific purpose of killing Germans by the dozens. In the comics, he was the leader of Payback, a group of superheroes who aren’t quite as powerful as The Seven. They were known as ‘The Seven before The Seven,’ according to Kripke. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer to see how Soldier Boy will play into the story in season 3, with the first three episodes dropping sometime in the next 24 hours.
