The Scrubs team got back together for a panel at the ATX Festival, and everyone confirmed that they’d all be on board to reunite for a revival. Created by Bill Lawrence, Scrubs originally aired for nine seasons from 2001-2010. The medical sitcom followed the employees of the Scared Heart Hospital, picking up when most of the main cast members were just getting started as interns. It had served as one of television’s most popular shows when it was on the air.
Per Deadline, Lawrence appeared at the Scrubs festival with cast members Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, and Neil Flynn. It was only natural for them to be asked about the possibility of a reboot, given that so many other shows from the past are getting revivals and remakes. Lawrence makes the promise that they’re going to do it because of how much they all enjoyed spending time together.

“We’re gonna do it because people still care about it and we enjoy spending time with each other.”
Lawrence was backed up by the cast. Faison feels that they would all be happy to do more with Scrubs, even if it’s not as an all-out series. This seems to acknowledge that getting everybody’s scheduling on the same page for a new show would be difficult, but that a reunion movie would certainly be something everyone could find the time for.
“I think we all want it. We all would love to work together again. It’s just that it’s really hard. It can’t be a full season of a show — it would have to be a movie or something like that, where you could only give a couple of months to it. Everyone is doing things.”

The Scrubs Cast Will Only Return if Bill Lawrence is Back
ABC
A Scrubs revival has the cast interested, but only if Bill Lawrence is back on board as well. Zach Braff says that Lawrence sitting out the potential revival would be like E.T. 2 getting made without Steven Spielberg. But Lawrence makes it clear that he’s eager to reunite with the gang and seems pretty confident that they’re all going to make this revival happen eventually, one one way or another.
“We’re gonna do it because we’re lucky enough that people care. Top to bottom, we enjoy spending time with each other. If you ever have an excuse to work with people that you’d want to spend time with anyways, run to it .”
This is not quite an official announcement that a Scrubs revival or reunion movie is definitely happening, but it is a great sign for the fans who’ve been hoping to see Turk and J.D. back on the screen together again. Should that never come to pass, fans will always have the original series to go back and watch. To watch the series from the start, you can find Scrubs streaming on the streaming service Hulu.
