Old Navy Sleeveless Rib-Knit Midi Dress I Editor Review

I admit it: I’m bodycon-dress-obsessed. There’s just something about a curve-hugging number that makes me feel my most confident, and for that reason, I can never have too many. In pursuit of practically every style and color under the sun, I recently stumbled across the Old Navy Fitted Sleeveless Rib-Knit Midi Dress ($40) and knew I needed it in my closet, stat. Ahead, find my honest review of the perfect-for-summer silhouette.

What I Like About This Dress

Um, everything? First of all, this dress has some serious stretch. Instead of struggling to put it on from overhead, I’m able to step into it and pull it up quick and easily. And the fit? Just as I had hoped. I ordered my usual size medium, and it hugs my curves without feeling like it was suctioned to my body. It’s lightweight and comfortable — so comfortable, in fact, that I was able to take a midday nap in it (and I can see myself doing that again in the future, TBH). Finally, it gives me ’90s vibes in the best way, and the side slit is such a fun touch.

What Occasion Is This Dress Good For?

This dress can easily be dressed up or down with accessories, be it a pair of trendy sneakers and a denim jacket or jewelry and designer heels. This summer, I can see myself wearing it a bunch of different ways. Since it’s as comfortable as pajamas, I’ll probably wear this frequently to work from home, but I also think it will come in handy for date nights and happy hours with friends.

What’s Worth Noting About This Dress

While this dress has mostly five-star reviews, there are some lower-ranked ones from shoppers who described it as “see-through.” In my experience, the fuchsia design (called Cosmic Rouge) wasn’t. I was able to wear a neutral-colored strapless bra and matching seamless undies underneath without being able to see them. It doesn’t conceal my body’s natural lumps and bumps, but I didn’t expect it to — it’s from the BodLove collection, after all!

Secondly, take note that there’s only one side slit. I initially thought there was one on each side, but after checking the product description, I realized it clearly states there’s only one on the left hem.

Would I Recommend This Dress?

Yes! I really want to buy this dress in another color, but I’m resisting simply because my collection is getting a little out of hand. But I certainly have my eye on that pretty teal color dubbed Mediterranean Sea.
