Ellen DeGeneres ‘Heartbroken’ Over Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ Death: ‘I Will Miss Him’

Ellen DeGeneres has posted a message of tribute online acknowledging the death of her friend, Stephen “tWitch” Boss. On Wednesday, it was reported that Boss died by suicide at the age of 40. Many have been expressing their shock and sadness on social media, and as someone who was close with Boss after spending many years working with him on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the same can be said for her. She posted on Instagram that she was “heartbroken” over the news while putting her thoughts with the family.

“I’m heartbroken,” the post reads. “tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

“So heartbreaking,” adds Olivia Munn.

Others in show business have been paying tribute as well. Yvette Nicole Brown separately tweeted, “What is going on?! This news has broken my heart. I’ve loved him since [So You Think You Can Dance]. He was always so joyful & full of life. Always. Oh, tWitch!”

Former First Lady Michelle Obama also tweeted, “I was heartbroken to learn about the passing of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who I got to know over the years through my Let’s Move! initiative and visits to The Ellen Show. My heart goes out to his wife, Allison, and his three children during this difficult time.”

The official Twitter page for the show posted a message of tribute for Boss.

“We will always remember Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss for the light and joy he brought into our lives and into the hearts of so many. We grieve alongside his family, loved ones and fans. tWitch, we will miss you dearly,” the tweet reads.

Separately from his work on Ellen, Boss in recent years had also worked with Disney for the Disney+ series Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings, which he developed with his wife Allison Holker.
