Shadow and Bone Season 2 is almost here, and Netflix will premiere the full trailer tomorrow. To get fans even more excited, the show’s official Twitter account released a new poster that reads, “Every power has a price.” Season two is based on Leigh Bardugo’s young adult fantasy novels Siege and Storm and Ruin and Rising. With the full trailer’s release, fans will surely get a better look at what’s to come for Shadow and Bone Season 2.
Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li) is the protagonist of the series, an orphaned Grisha who discovers she is the prophesied Sun Summoner. As a result, she will be able to defeat the creatures of the Shadow Fold. She must evade capture and danger as she learns to control her new powers. In the show’s second half, we follow The Crows, a group of criminals led by Kaz Brekker who pursue their own interests.

In season two, Alina and her companion Mal (Archie Renaux) will still be evading the Darkling, otherwise known as Kirigan. Having managed to escape the Shadow Fold, he has become stronger than ever, determined to complete the task of bringing Ravka into darkness. The poster shows the Darkling looming over Alina and Mal, with dark clouds and thunder indicating his return. At the center of the poster, Alina seems to be ready to use her powers and put an end to the villain’s plans.
In addition, Collider reports that a few exciting characters from the books will be introduced in season 2 of Shadow & Bone. Lewis Tan and Anna Leong Brophy are joining the series as the twins Tolya and Tamar; Patrick Gibson will appear as Nikolai Lantsov, also known as the privateer Sturmhond, and Jack Wolfe will appear as Wylan. Fans of the books will undoubtedly be excited and looking forward to what season 2 will bring with this new addition of characters.
Shadow and Bone will return for its second season on Mar. 16. This will feature the return of Amita Suman, Kit Young, Danielle Galligan, Calahan Skogman, Sujaya Dasgupta, Daisy Head, and Luke Pasqualino. Eric Heisserer will continue to serve as showrunner for the new season, composed of eight episodes. More information on the new season will be released tomorrow with the official trailer.
