Top 3 bowling spells in IPL history

The fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 31. It is one of the top T20 leagues in the world, the competition.

The IPL has seen numerous remarkable bowling spells over the years where the bowlers have displayed great skill to outwit the batsman. Several bowlers, including Lasith Malinga, Amit Mishra, and Ravichandran Ashwin, have put on outstanding displays.

Let us have a look at the top 3 spells in the IPL history:

#1 Alzarri Joseph

Alzarri Joseph’s deadly bowling caused havoc for the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters during the 2019 IPL. He took six wickets while giving up only 12 runs, shattering the SRH batting order. The Indian Premier League’s finest bowling numbers are led by this sequence.

David Warner, Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, and Siddharth Kaul were all dismissed by Joseph. He was named Player of the Match as the Mumbai Indians defeated the opposition by 40 runs.

#2 Sohail Tanvir

In the first season of the Indian Premier League, Sohail Tanvir was the star player for the Rajasthan Royals. With 22 wickets, he finished the competition as the tournament’s top wicket-taker. In the 2008 season, he bowled against the Chennai Super Kings and recorded his best stats of 6/14.

Tanvir dismissed Parthiv Patel, Stephen Fleming, Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan, Albie Morkel, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Makhaya Ntini en way to his six-wicket haul. Whenever he bowled well, the match prediction was in favor of the Royals and hence was crucial to Rajasthan Royals’ championship-winning season.

#3 Adam Zampa

In the 2016 IPL, Adam Zampa’s spin bowling against the Sunrisers Hyderabad caused mayhem. In one innings, he had six wickets and a 4.75 economy rate. Kane Williamson, Yuvraj Singh, Moises Henriques, Deepak Hooda, Naman Ojha, and Bhuvneswar Kumar were among his six dismissals.

Regrettably, Adam Zampa’s period for the Rising Pune Giants was unable to win the game. Their batting lineup lost the game by 4 runs since they were unable to catch up to 138. Nonetheless, Zampa’s bowling brilliance earned him the Player of the Match trophy.
