Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton‘s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, all have roles in their grandfather, King Charles III’s, coronation procession. And they have certainly dressed the part. Prince George looked dapper in a traditional military-style uniform rendered in bright red. Prince Louis’s navy suit by Dege & Skinner included a jacket with lace embellishment and pants with a stripe on either side. And finally, Princess Charlotte mirrored her mother in a white cape and dress by Alexander McQueen.
In the ultimate coronation matching moment, both Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte wore white Alexander McQueen ivory silk crepe dresses for the occasion. Both designs carried national symbolism with rose, daffodil, thistle, and shamrock imagery as a nod to the four home nations. The mother-daughter duo also wore Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen headpieces in lieu of traditional diamond tiaras as a nod to King Charles III’s focus on environmentalism.
Charlotte has already begun to make her style mark in the world, making a poignant sartorial statement at her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in fall of 2022. Alongside a black coat and hat resembling her mother Kate Middleton’s look, Princess Charlotte wore her first-ever brooch, one that belonged to Queen Elizabeth II herself, in tribute.
The family has been known to coordinate their looks, whether in Christmas card photos or off-duty shots by Middleton, shared to celebrate the children’s birthdays. Princess Charlotte, in particular, often takes style cues from her mother, even wearing a navy polka-dot dress in 2022, much like Kate Middleton’s signature outfits. So, it stands to reason that they would have done the same for one of the biggest events of their lifetimes.
Ahead, see photos capturing all three children and their now-iconic coronation looks that will live in the history books forever.
