All-NBA teams unveiled: Embiid beats out Jokic for 1st-team spot

The All-NBA teams for the 2022-23 season were announced during Wednesday’s TNT broadcast.

Recently crowned MVP Joel Embiid nabbed a first-team selection at the center spot, relegating Nikola Jokic to the second unit. Jokic earned a first-team nod and the MVP title in each of the previous two seasons.

This is the final year the league will opt for position-based All-NBA teams.

Mitchell notched a 71-point game and averaged a career-high 28.3 points this season, showing why the Cavaliers gave up multiple first-round picks and players to land him.

Jaylen Brown’s first appearance has major implications for the Boston Celtics’ future. Brown is now super-max eligible, meaning the Celtics can offer him a five-year, $295-million extension this offseason, according to ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

The Kings were all over awards ballots this campaign, with Fox named Clutch Player of the Year, Mike Brown winning Coach of the Year, and Keegan Murray earning All-Rookie honors.

LeBron James’ 19th All-NBA appearance adds to his record number. No other player has garnered more than 15 All-NBA selections.

A panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters voted on the All-NBA teams.
