Ryan Reynolds Lulls Us to Sleep in the First Trailer for Bedtime Stories With Ryan

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds plays a different sort of character in the first trailer for Bedtime Stories with Ryan, namely himself, with the actor giving off a much calmer vibe than usual and leaving the R-rated jokes and quips at the door as he reads us calming stories and helps us go to sleep. Released courtesy of Ryan Reynolds’ official Twitter account, Bedtime Stories with Ryan comes as part of the partnership between the actor’s production company Maximum Effort and the streaming service Fubo. Check out the newly released trailer for Bedtime Stories with Ryan below.

“The idea for a show made to help everyone fall asleep was born the same day as my fourth child. I can’t wait for you to watch Bedtime Stories,” Reynolds has said of the series, which finds the typically anxious-energy of the Deadpool actor taking a back seat and making way for what the trailer describes as “a restful show.” Bedtime Stories with Ryan will run for 15-episodes, and finds Ryan Reynolds reading “new and classic bedtime stories in an attempt to soothe your mind and soul (and also his own).”

“We’re so happy to create a program with the express goal of putting people to sleep,” Reynolds said of Bedtime Stories with Ryan in a statement. “This show has actually been a dream of mine for a while. Story time is a nighttime staple in our home and is a daily reminder of the power of storytelling.”

Directed by Vincent Peone and produced by Maximum Effort and Fubo in partnership with ArtClass and Loon Productions, Bedtime Stories with Ryan will feature music by Sleeping At Last. Bedtime Stories with Ryan will be officially sponsored by the American multinational software corporation Autodesk, with the series being designed and brought to life using the platform, which specializes in software products and services for various industries including architecture, engineering, media, education, entertainment, and more.

Bedtime Stories with Ryan Is a Mix of Joy & Relaxation

Maximum Effort/Fubo

“’Bedtime Stories With Ryan’ is a magical mix of joy and relaxation,” Pamela Duckworth, head of Fubo Studios, said of the series. “These may be legendary stories, but Ryan’s voice and personality amplify each one, turning them into classics for a new generation.”

The multi-year deal between Maximum Effort and FuboTV was announced in August last year, and will see the production company join forces with the streaming platform to bring audiences new projects as part of a first-look deal for unscripted content. “Maximum Effort’s mission is to bring people together in fun and unexpected ways and we think today’s announcement with Fubo will help do just that,” Ryan Reynolds, co-founder of Maximum Effort Productions, said in a statement at the time. “FuboTV has taken a fresh approach to developing and delivering content in the digital age and the entire team is passionate about thinking differently and taking chances. I genuinely can’t believe Maximum Effort gets to program our own network. I am beyond excited and grateful to Fubo.”

The Maximum Effort Channel will be available via Fubo and additional streaming platforms yet to be announced, with both the channel and Bedtime Stories with Ryan scheduled to debut on June 20.
