The next crossover for Dead by Daylight will bring a Xenomorph into the multiplayer battle. Online, developer Behaviour Interactive released a teaser trailer for the Alien chapter soon coming to DLC. Not many details were shared, though it was promised that more will be unveiled on Aug. 8. For now, a first look teaser reveals a peek at an Alien-themed map along with a Xenomorph, suggesting the vicious extra-terrestrial will be added as a playable killer.
The map looks like the Nostromo, but it’s unclear at this time if any human characters will also be added as a part of the Alien chapter. Of course, Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley seems like a natural candidate to bring into the fold, given her popularity with fans and importance to the franchise. A glimpse of Ripley’s orange cat in the new teaser also lends credence to this. With that noted, the Dead by Daylight year eight roadmap has teased that the next chapter, which turned out to be Alien, would be including a killer, map, and survivor, so it seems likely that Ripley, or possibly another Alien fan favorite, will be coming as well.
Alien becomes just the latest major franchise to have its own chapter added to Dead by Daylight. Previous chapters, which have brought in popular killers and survivors from other horror franchises, include Stranger Things, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, Evil Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw, Hellraiser, and more. Characters from other video game franchises have also been brought in, with games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill getting their own chapters.

Nicolas Cage Will Be Able to Face a Xenomorph in Dead by Daylight

The most recent new chapter to be added to Dead by Daylight was perhaps the most peculiar one yet. It allowed players to control actor Nicolas Cage as a playable survivor, notably as himself and not any of his fictitious movie characters. Adding Cage also gives fans the chance to see how the Face/Off star would do facing famous movie villains like Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and now, a Xenomorph from Alien. Of course, Cage voices himself for the video game in addition to lending his likeness.
Dead by Daylight is also preparing to cross over into the world of film amid various movies becoming a part of the game. Jason Blum and James Wan have teamed up to develop a feature film based on the video game, though the movie is unlikely to feature Nic Cage, the Xenomorph, and other crossover characters from the downloadable chapters. There are a plethora of original killers and survivors that were created solely for the video game, and they may be who gets incorporated into the movie. There’s not much else that’s known about the project at this time, but it comes with Blumhouse preparing to drop another video game adaptation, Five Nights at Freddy’s, in theaters this fall.
More information about the Alien chapter for Dead by Daylight will be announced on Aug. 8.
