Jonathan Majors Is Back as Kang the Conqueror in Loki Season Two Latest Trailer

Summary

  • Kang the Conqueror returns in the trailer for Loki season two, hinting at his increasingly important role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  • Jonathan Majors, despite facing legal troubles, will continue his role as Kang in the upcoming season.
  • Other key characters, including Mobius and Sylvie, will also be back for the new epic adventure, setting the stage for future projects in the franchise.

Kang the Conqueror is back in the latest trailer for Loki season two, coming to Disney+ on October 6. After shows like Echo and Agatha: Darkhold Diaries were recently delayed due to the current strikes, Tom Hiddleston’s character stands as the only survivor of Disney’s latest calendar shake up. But the God of Mischief is not the only one returning.

Earlier this year, right when he was going through one of his best moments of his career after the releases of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Creed III, Jonathan Majors was accused of assault and harassment, with the date for the trial set for September 6th. In the middle of this chaos, fans started wondering if the actor would be part of the upcoming season of Loki, since his character has become a key piece of the MCU’s immediate future.

The answer to that question was finally answered in the first look at the new episodes, which feature a brief participation of Majors. However, with the latest trailer for season two, the show teases a very important role for Victor Timely, one of the many variants of Kang, who appeared in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania:

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe heading to a new major crossover in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Kang’s role will be increasingly important within the main plot that unites other future projects of the franchise, so it would be very difficult to keep the character off the screen. This is especially true of Loki, since at the end of the first batch of episodes Major made his debut as He Who Remains, who was killed by Sylvie, teasing the arrival of Kang’s variants.

Who Else Will Be Back for Loki Season Two?

Marvel Studios

Hiddleston and Majors are not the only ones coming back to Disney+ for a new epic adventure through time. Owen Wilson’s Mobius is also set to return, while the character is rumored to be part of another interesting project from the MCU in the near future, the long-awaited Deadpool 3. Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie will also be back, joined by Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Eugene Cordero as Casey, and Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, another character rumored to be participating in the next adventure of Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth.

Everything Everywhere All At Once star and recent Academy-Award winner Ke Huy Quan will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the second season of Loki as Ouroboros or O.B., another TVA agent who is in charge of supervising and repairing the TVA’s technology.

Since Loki season one was the first MCU project to formally introduce the concept of the multiverse, its rules and conflicts, the next installment will surely play an important part for what’s coming to the franchise soon. In fact, Loki was the only series from the first batch of TV shows from Marvel Studios for Disney+ that got renewed for a second season, which proves how important it is for the story that they’re telling now.
