The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are now part of Hollywood’s history. Weeks after the debut of their latest cinematographic adventure in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, the heroic group from New York has left their mark at the TCL Chinese Theater.
Starting as a comic book series back in 1984, published by Mirage Studios, the characters were amazingly received, and the story was a surprising success. In 1987, the company licensed the brand with Playmates Toys, and started selling action figures in 1988, becoming a major hit in the crowded market.
To promote the launch of the toys, Mirage Studios developed an animated series based on the characters, which ended up becoming another huge milestone for the franchise. This led to several animated and live-action movies, videogames and all kind of side projects, turning the characters created by Eastman and Laird into one of the biggest brands in pop culture.
This year, in an attempt to revive the hype for the story and to introduce the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to a new generation, Paramount Pictures brought them back to the big screen with an animated feature that delivered a unique style of animation, and a film that avoided the pitfalls of some of the previous movies of the franchise.

Just like the original series, the latest film centers on the adventures of Raphael, Donatello, Leonardo and Michelangelo, four anthropomorphic turtle brothers who were trained in martial arts by their master, Splinter. Living on the margins of society in the sewers of New York, the brothers dedicate themselves to fighting crime from the shadows and eat as much pizza as they can.
However, the new film finds them tired of living in hiding, seeking to be accepted by the inhabitants of the city thanks to their heroic actions. To accomplish this, they’ll count on their friend April O’Neil, who will help them on their mission to defeat a crime organization that hides a dark and powerful secret.
One of the most impressive things about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is its amazing cast, led by Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon as the main characters.
