New and previously scrapped designs of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have emerged, showcasing an alternative look for Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch. Olsen’s portrayal of this character in the Disney+ series WandaVision garnered acclaim for its unique blend of humor, drama, and profound emotional depth. The series masterfully displayed Scarlet Witch’s versatility, seamlessly transitioning from her comedic moments to her heartbreaking struggles with grief and loss.

The Direct recently unveiled rejected designs for the corrupted and evil iteration of Scarlet Witch found within the pages of “The Art of the Movie” book for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. These designs prominently featured the ominous black veins indicative of the Darkhold’s corrupting influence gradually taking hold of her. However, what truly captures the imagination is the final design, where the Darkhold’s influence is taken to an extraordinary extreme, rendering Wanda’s head seemingly fragmented into a realm of darkness. Elizabeth Olsen Looks Beyond Scarlet Witch

Elizabeth Olsen recently shared her enthusiasm for a potential crossover between her character and the X-Men during her appearance at the TJH Superhero Car Show & Comic Con. She expressed a deep interest in exploring the “Mutant thing” and delving further into her character’s story, all while possibly encountering other MCU Mutants.

“Oh gosh, I just want to figure out the whole Mutant thing. Like, that’s really…and none of us can do anything about it. Like, we can’t do anything about it. We’re not X-Men, but gosh. I just would love to explore that so much. I think, X-Men was definitely my first experience with superhero-type films.”

However, Olsen’s career aspirations go beyond her role as Scarlet Witch. She previously discussed her desire to diversify her career and avoid being exclusively associated with a single character. Over the past four years, her primary output has been Marvel-related projects, and while she values her work in the MCU, she believes it’s essential to build a portfolio with diverse roles for a more balanced and enduring career.

“Specifically, in the last four years, my output has been Marvel. I don’t want… it’s not that I don’t want to be associated as just this character. But I really feel like I need to be building other parts back up for balance. I so much want to do films right now. And I hope some of them come together in the way I feel like they can. But yeah, that’s something that I need. I just need other characters in my life. There’s no longevity in one character.”

Olsen’s journey in the MCU began with her appearance in the credits of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, ultimately leading to her full-fledged introduction as Wanda Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. Her character’s evolution continued in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she was depicted as an antagonist and seemingly met her demise. However, the Scarlet Witch possesses formidable powers, making her return entirely plausible.
