Seinfeld’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus Offers Her Two Cents About a Possible Reunion For the ‘Show About Nothing’

Summary

  • Julia Louis-Dreyfus is unaware of any plans for a Seinfeld reunion and doesn’t understand Jerry Seinfeld’s recent comments.
  • Seinfeld and Larry David have been pondering the show’s controversial finale and suggest that something related to it will happen in the future.
  • The finale of Seinfeld left many fans dissatisfied, as the main characters were sentenced to jail, but with the possibility of a reunion, they could be living their lives freely.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus doesn’t have a clue about a future Seinfeld reunion, or, at least, that’s how she responded in the press. On Saturday, October 7, Jerry Seinfeld appeared in a pair of shows at the Boch Center in Boston, Massachusetts. During one of his stand-up performances in Beantown, the co-creator of the “show about nothing” teased a possible continuation of the controversial Seinfeld finale. And Louis-Dreyfus responded to Seinfeld’s comments in an interview with The Guardian (below):

Yeah, I just saw [Seinfeld’s video from the Boch Center] last night. And I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about.

During the footage (below), Seinfeld tells the audience that he and co-creator Larry David have been thinking about the same thing fans of the NBC TV series have, in regard to the show’s finale in 1998: “Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending… it hasn’t happened yet.” Seinfeld facetiously joked with the crowd that the precious information was a secret… and for them not to tell anyone. Louis-Dreyfus became one of Seinfeld’s core-four characters, which includes Jerry, George Costanza (Jason Alexander) Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) and her own Elaine Benes. However, Louis-Dreyfus didn’t appear in the pilot. Rather, Jerry’s ex-girlfriend made her first appearance in season one, episode two’s The Stake Out.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus Doesn’t Know Anything About a Seinfeld Reunion

NBC

Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David know something the rest of the Seinfeld creatives apparently do not. Even Julia Louis-Dreyfus, one of the show’s core-four, is in the dark. Louis-Dreyfus obviously either doesn’t know anything about a reunion, or the actress is feigning ignorance. Regardless of her reaction to the news, Seinfeld insists something that involves the series finale is happening on the horizon.

Seinfeld ran for nine seasons on NBC. And even though it’s one of the most beloved and successful television shows of all time, the way the series ended left a bitter taste in many fans’ mouths. After Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer stand by, while someone is robbed on the streets of Latham, Massachusetts, the foursome is arrested for breaking the little-known Good Samaritan Law.

The finale features a who’s who of the show’s most well-known characters who all return to send Seinfeld off in style. Unfortunately, the four main characters are eventually found guilty of breaking the Good Samaritan Law, and they’re all sentenced to one year in jail.

What fans might forget is that the foursome is only sentenced to be in prison for a single year. Seinfeld points out that they’ll all be free in 12 months, while Kramer likes the idea that they don’t have to worry about “meals or what you’re going to do on Saturday night.” So, if a Seinfeld reunion takes place, the show’s beloved characters could be anywhere in the world living perfectly Good Samaritan Law-breaking lives.
