Tom Hiddleston Responds to Loki’s Possible Deadpool 3 Inclusion

Summary

  • Tom Hiddleston addresses rumors of Loki appearing in Deadpool 3, but his response remains elusive in true MCU fashion.
  • Deadpool 3 promises to be a multiversal adventure, with characters from the Marvel/Fox universe potentially making appearances.
  • The plot of Deadpool 3 is still mostly a mystery, with rumors suggesting time travel and conflicts with the TVA, but it’s all just fan theories for now.

After the epic finale of the second season of Loki and the end of the actors’ strike, Tom Hiddleston was invited to The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, where he finally addressed those rumors of the God of Mischief appearing in Deadpool 3.

The third adventure of the Merc with a Mouth is one of the most anticipated projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s future, not only because it will mark the debut of Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the MCU, but also because it promises to be a true multiversal adventure.

According to rumors about the plot of the film directed by Shawn Levy, a long list of characters from the Marvel/Fox universe could appear in Deadpool 3, such as Halle Berry’s Storm or Jessica Alba’s Sue Storm. But several current MCU characters could also appear, including Loki.

However, there is no confirmation from Marvel Studios about who will participate in the film beyond the already confirmed cast. But, now that the actors’ strike is over, some stars can already answer whether they will appear or not. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Tom Hiddleston was approached about these rumors, but his response was very elusive:

“I mean, I know they’re making Deadpool 3. It’s a very good question. I’m thinking of all the answers I could give it. I know that Ryan Reynolds he like, owns a football team in the UK. A soccer team.”

Hiddleston has been part of the MCU almost since the beginning, and he knows very well how to keep interviews spoiler-free, because he knows the consequences that revealing “classified” information can have. For now, fans will have to wait until July 26, 2024, to see Deadpool 3 and find out if Loki or any other character from the series appears in the film or not.

What We Know So Far About Deadpool 3

Walt Disney Studios/Marvel Studios

Despite the number of rumors that have arisen regarding the movie, the plot of Deadpool 3 is still mostly a mystery, thanks to director Shawn Levy’s evasive answers during recent interviews. With the highly anticipated Marvel movie set to head back into production in the coming days, we will likely start to see some small hints at things to come as it heads towards its July 2024 release.

One of the most suggested rumors is that the plot could focus on Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson traveling back in time with Cable’s artifact, which would lead him to face some conflicts with the TVA. To avoid a major problem, he would reach an agreement to help them on an important mission that would take him to different dying realities, including the universes of the Fox franchises. However, this is still just a fan theory for now.

We do know that Deadpool 3 will feature the returns of Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine respectively. They will be joined by other stars of the Merc with a Mouth franchise such as Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Piotr Rasputin /Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Rob Delaney as Peter. Additionally Emma Corrin is reported to be taking on a villain role in the movie, and Matthew Macfadyen has signed on in an undisclosed role. So far, the only older Marvel character confirmed to be returning is Jennifer Garner as Elektra.
