The full caption reads:

“Shot the pilot, Friends Like Us, got picked up then immediately, we were at the NBC Upfronts. Then…

You suggested we play poker AND made it so much fun while we initially bonded. Thank you for that.

Thank you for making me laugh so hard at something you said, that my muscles ached, and tears poured down my face EVERY DAY.

Thank you for your open heart in a six way relationship that required compromise. And a lot of “talking.”

Thank you for showing up at work when you weren’t well and then, being completely brilliant.

Thank you for the best 10 years a person gets to have.

Thank you for trusting me.

Thank you for all I learned about GRACE and LOVE through knowing you.

Thank you for the time I got to have with you, Matthew.”

Kudrow and Perry, who portrayed Phoebe Buffay and Chandler Bing on the NBC hit series, starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc throughout the show’s 10-season run, spanning from 1994 to 2004. Although it initially garnered mixed reviews, Friends is now largely considered one of the all-time best series and is adored by viewers. Critics often cite the cast’s chemistry as one of the components of the show’s success. In 2021, the cast reunited for the anticipated Friends: The Reunion.

Friends Cast Fondly Remembers Matthew Perry

NBC

Kudrow’s touching homage comes just hours after Aniston and Schwimmer took to social media to share their own messages of remembrance. Cox and LeBlanc posted about the late actor on Tuesday.

Schwimmer thanked Perry for “ten incredible years of laughter and creativity” while making note of the actor’s “impeccable comic timing and delivery” and generous heart, which Schwimmer said allowed for the creation of “a family out of six strangers.” Aniston also spoke of the core cast’s closeness in her post. She shared a candid black and white picture of herself and Perry, included an anecdote about Perry’s love for making others laugh, and shared: “We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be.”

LeBlanc bid farewell to Perry “with a heavy heart” and called it an honor to work with and call Perry a friend (via Instagram). Cox, who portrayed Perry’s friend-turned-love interest-turned-wife in the series, shared a behind-the-scenes story of the beginning of their on-screen love story.

The Friends’ cast individual posts follow a previously released joint statement where Kudrow, Cox, Aniston, Schwimmer and LeBlanc shared that they were devastated by Perry’s loss. Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home on October 28. He was 54.
