Packers’ LaFleur: ‘Night and day’ improvement in Love’s play

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur praised quarterback Jordan Love’s recent ability to command the offense after the team’s 29-22 victory over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

“I think it’s night and day,” LaFleur said of Love’s play over the last month compared to earlier in the season, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

The young signal-caller played his best game of the year Thursday, totaling 307 yards with three touchdowns and zero turnovers. His 125.5 passer rating was the best mark of his career in a single contest.

After a rocky beginning to his first campaign as the Packers’ starter, Love’s recent play has turned their season around. Green Bay has won three of its last four games, improving its record to 5-6 after a 2-5 start.

During those four games, Love totaled 1,164 yards with eight touchdowns and only two turnovers.

“In my eyes, I think we’ve seen enough,” Packers wide receiver Christian Watson said postgame Thursday, assessing Love’s potential future as the franchise quarterback.

“We know what he’s capable of, and for him, he’s going to keep on getting better, keep on climbing, keep on getting even more comfortable back there. And we’re going to keep on getting better around him, too. We’re going to keep on coming up as a team, and that’s only going to make all of us better.”

The Packers will look to continue their hot streak in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.
