NBA suspends Draymond Green indefinitely

The NBA suspended Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green indefinitely after his latest scuffle.

Green was handed a flagrant-2 foul and ejected for striking Phoenix Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic in Tuesday’s loss.

Green “will be required to meet certain league and team conditions” before he can return. Those rules will include counseling, sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

The veteran was ejected and suspended five games earlier in the season for putting Minnesota Timberwolves big man Rudy Gobert in a chokehold during a multi-player altercation. He was also kicked out of a game earlier this season for pushing Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell.

This punishment is now the sixth time Green has been suspended in his 12-year NBA career. The league cited his history of incidents as a factor in deciding the length of his ban in both the Gobert incident and his most recent strike on Nurkic.

Green apologized to Nurkic postgame, calling the situation an accident.

“As you know, I’m not one to apologize for things that I meant to do, but I do apologize to Jusuf because I didn’t intend to hit him,” Green said. “I sell calls with my arms … so I was just selling the call because he was grabbing me and pulling my hip back, so I spun away and, unfortunately, I hit him.”
