Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis isn’t expected to play in the team’s Week 16 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks due to a high ankle sprain, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Veteran signal-caller Ryan Tannehill is set to start, Rapoport adds.
Levis didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday but was a limited participant on Friday. He pushed to play at practice but couldn’t meet the requirements to go on Sunday, according to Rapoport.
The 24-year-old suffered the injury in the club’s 19-16 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 15. The defeat officially eliminated Tennessee from playoff contention.
Levis took over the starting job in Week 8 and has appeared in every game since, throwing for 1,792 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He claimed the role from Tannehill after the latter sustained an ankle injury in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Tannehill has 1,128 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions in six starts this campaign.
