Report: Raptors, Pacers ‘actively engaged’ in Siakam trade talks

The Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers are “actively engaged” in trade talks regarding All-Star forward Pascal Siakam, sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Sam Amick.

Indiana’s reported offer includes versatile guard Bruce Brown, other salaries, and three first-round draft picks.

While the Raptors have spoken with other teams on a potential Siakam deal, their discussions with the Pacers have gained momentum in recent days, Charania and Amick add.

The two sides have reportedly exchanged several proposals and are far along in the process. However, no deal has been finalized or agreed upon, Charania and Amick report.

The Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks have each expressed exploratory interest in Siakam as well, sources told Charania and Amick.

The Sacramento Kings had also been in pursuit of the Raptors star before reportedly withdrawing their trade interest in him.

Siakam is in the final year of a four-year, $136.9-million contract. The 29-year-old is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists over 39 appearances this season. He’s spent his entire career in Toronto after being selected 27th overall in 2016.

Meanwhile, Brown joined the Pacers in free agency this past summer after playing a key role in the Denver Nuggets’ championship run last season. He’s averaging 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, three assists, and 1.1 steals across 33 games.

Brown’s contract includes a $23-million team option for next season.
