Report: Williams intends to sign 5-year, $90M deal with Bulls

Patrick Williams is intending to stay with the Chicago Bulls on a five-year, $90-million pact, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The deal can’t be made official with the restricted free agent until the league moratorium expires on July 6, K.C. Johnson of NBC Chicago adds.

The 22-year-old spent the past four seasons with the Bulls after getting selected fourth overall in 2020.

Williams underwent season-ending surgery on his right foot back in February, limiting him to 43 games. He averaged more than 27 minutes over those contests, posting 10 points and 2.8 defensive boards.

Over 213 career games, the power forward is averaging 9.7 points and 4.2 total rebounds while shooting 41% from deep.

Williams made the 2020-21 All-Rookie Team after starting 71 games. Since then, though, he’s been a starter in only 104 tilts, partly due to various ailments.
