  • Terrifier 3 promises controversial and intense opening scenes and will explore unanswered questions from Terrifier 2, including the sketchbook connection between Sienna and Art the Clown.

The highly anticipated teaser trailer for Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3 has just made its way online, featuring Art the Clown returning to the franchise in a new, Christmas-themed horror film set to hit theaters on October 25th, 2024. Fans got a chance to see the Terrifier 3 teaser trailer on the big screen during the re-release of Terrifier 2 on November 1st, which brought in $11 million dollars during its initial run in theaters back in 2022. The new teaser features Art the Clown dressed as Santa Claus, marking a departure from the previous two films, which were set on Halloween. Watch the new Terrifier 3 trailer below:

In a press release today from Ciniverse and Bloody Disgusting, we gleaned a little more information as to what to expect from the third entry in the popular horror franchise.

“In the third installment of Damien Leone’s breakout horror film, Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.”

Leone’s Terrifier films became a sleeper hit among fans, and gained widespread notice with the release of Terrifier 2. The sequel earned praise from such outlets as The New York Times, who called it “the little horror movie that could.”

Though they have not been without their controversy, Leone has taken it all in stride when responding to criticism.

Terrifier 3 Will Have a Bigger Budget & Bigger Kills

Bloody Disgusting

While Terrifier 2 was produced on a budget of just $250,000, and featured a plethora of gore for horror fans to revel in, Terrifier 3 will see its budget increased to seven-figures, and see Leone push the boundaries of blood even further. In the press release, the director was quoted as saying:

“In a cinematic landscape where risk-taking is scarce, I will continue to push boundaries in Terrifier 3, and I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store for Art the Clown.”

Continuing the sentiment, the managing editor of Bloody Disgusting, Brad Miska, said:

“Terrifier 3 is going to have nastier kills, a bigger budget and an even crazier storyline.”

Audiences have already come to expect a lot of carnage from the Terrifier franchise, but with Terrifier 3, Damien Leone has promised that the first five minutes of the film will be some of the most controversial in its brief history. Based on the teaser trailer, it seems as if nobody is off limits for Art the Clown, including children.

Terrifier 3 will see the return of David Howard Thornton portraying Art the Clown, as well as Lauren LaVera, who quickly became a fan-favorite for her portrayal of Sienna Shaw, the chief protagonist in Terrifier 2. While a full synopsis has yet to be revealed, we do know that the third installment will see Leone return in tone to what made the first film a success.

Though Terrifier 2 left fans with more questions than answers, the director has revealed that he intends to provide insight into some of the events of the second installment, including why Sienna’s deceased father has a sketchbook that included drawings of Art the Clown.
