Best Medicine’s The Salty Breeze Charms Everyone – Even Doc Martin Himself

Small towns have the best gathering spots that epitomize their identity.

Think of Jack’s Bar or Luke’s Diner.

On Best Medicine, the beautiful coastal town of Port Wenn features The Salty Breeze.

It’s been a blast whisking away to Port Wenn, falling in love with its quirky collection of characters, and imagining oneself in that sea-themed restaurant with a roaming pig named Brisket and a hilarious, endearing couple bickering.

Truthfully, if there is anyone who can capture the charm of The Salty Breeze, Elaine can. She’s always facing a new hustle or a chance to go viral. This time, she’s hoping to place the spotlight on the heart and soul of Port Wenn.

Of course, it’s Elaine, and her attempts at capturing the restaurant’s charms are a little off-kilter just like her!

TV Fanatic scored a first look at Elaine’s efforts. And it includes a delightful surprise for all Doc Martin fans who are still nostalgic for the British version of the series.

The commercial is, well, we’ll just say it’s a work in progress for Elaine, albeit a strong enough effort. Seriously, someone get that girl a proper editor for aesthetic!

She focuses her attention on The Salty Breeze partners in business and life, George and Greg, as they discuss why they gave up the big-city life for the allure of Port Wenn.

The restaurant and lodge life have treated this couple well, as they brag about snagging the award for the best lobster roll in Maine for six years in a row.

And if those shiny awards aren’t persuasive, surely, Port Wenn’s favorite sheriff, Mark Mylow, with a mouthful of lobster roll and nothing that resembles food etiquette, will do the trick, right?

Sarah takes her role in this commercial seriously, describing The Salty Breeze as “the heart of Port Wenn.”

And bless Elaine’s heart, she even attempts to involve Dr. Best in this ordeal.

Naturally, he’s opposed to being on camera, part of the commercial, or being involved in anything for that matter.

He shoos her away, even pushing the camera out of the way.

But the real treat is catching a glimpse of Martin’s father at the town pharmacy. Elaine tries to ask him how he feels about The Salty Breeze and if he has something to say about it.

However, if we thought Martin was the curmudgeon, apparently, his father has him beat. That rough, prickly exterior may be hereditary.

He’s succinct: “No.” And Elaine moves on, pushing her other side gigs and projects, including the one involving bears. Bless her heart.

But the big news here from this commercial reveal is that Martin’s father is coming to Port Wenn! It’s exciting news.

Why is he there? What’s the nature of their relationship? And what will Aunt Sarah have to say about it?

For the Best Medicine fans who are familiar with Doc Martin and eager to see any references to the show, the debut of Doc Martin himself, Martin Clunes, is a nice little surprise!

We hope that for those who are still wary or clinging to the original series, this bit of nostalgia and the talented face of Doc Martin dropping by Port Wenn to support and give Best Medicine a stamp of approval will ease nerves and open minds to this delightful little series.
