Biffy Clyro fight the judgement of modern life on heavy new single ‘Hunting Season’

Biffy Clyro have shared their punk-infused new single ‘Hunting Season’. Check it out below.

The track follows the band’s recent single ‘A Little Love’ – which saw them head straight to the top of the UK’s Official Vinyl Singles Chart – as a preview from their upcoming album ‘Futique’. It will be released on September 26 and is available for pre-order here.

The high-octane, punk track sees the band explore the prominence of judgement in modern society, with frontman Simon Neil singing: “Sneering at a scene from above/’Cause that’s the safest distance to judge/You think you’re so special/Is there something I don’t know?”

Speaking on the track, Neil said: “‘Hunting Season’ is saying, ‘I don’t know if I can judge myself through the eyes of someone else.’ It’s hard enough to know who you are and what matters to you, but if you’re worrying too much about how other people are seeing you then you don’t stand a chance.

“I feel like we’re all judged so much by people in the outside world who don’t know anything about us and that can be really scary,” he added. Check out the song below.

In celebration of the upcoming record, Biffy Clyro recently announced a massive UK and Ireland tour set to take place next year.

Dates kick off on January 9 with an opening night at the SSE Arena in Belfast, and will see them head to Belfast, Nottingham, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Aberdeen and Glasgow. You can buy tickets here and find a full list of tour dates here.

Joining them on the run will be special guests Soft Play and The Armed. Speaking about the new announcement, Simon Neil and co. said: “It’s fucking time… ‘The Futique Tour 2026’”.

According to Neil, the upcoming record is “an exploration of ideas, objects or relationships that exist across time”. He continued: “We are never aware when we do anything for the last time, and there’s a beauty and sadness within that. What will be your ‘Futique’?”

It comes as the follow-up to 2020’s ‘A Celebration Of Endings’ and 2021’s ‘The Myth Of The Happily Ever After’, and also follows a busy 2023 of Simon Neil performing with his other group, Empire State Bastard.

The latter is the band he formed with Oceansize’s Mike Vennart, Bitch Falcon bassist Naomi Macleod and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo.

News of the upcoming album arrived just days before Biffy paid tribute to Brian Wilson with a Beach Boys cover on the Pyramid Stage during their set at Glastonbury 2025.
