Big Brother Spoilers: Veto Winner Revealed, and the Icons Are in Trouble

Big Brother Spoilers: Veto Winner Revealed, and the Icons Are in Trouble

It’s hard to believe that the Big Brother Gods rewarded us patient fans with live feeds on Saturday evening, after host Julie Chen told us to go touch some grass and expect them back on Sunday evening.

Her statement during Big Brother’s 1000th episode stirred up the fan base like never before because the very fabric of the show has been the unfiltered live feed since its inception.

The only reason for the blackout was that the show eliminated another houseguest hours after Mallory, in a twist that featured returning fan favorites from prior seasons.

Last season, we learned that Rachel Reilly lost her place in the game due to an instant elimination.

These twists suck because the aim of Big Brother is to not be evicted, and adding these instant eliminations is just a ploy to up the stakes.

A traditional double eviction would be more effective.

Thankfully, we know what happened in the house, though we’re missing a lot of context due to the unnecessary blackout.

Hayley was eliminated.

We don’t know how it played out, but it sounds like Angela didn’t have to compete in the final competition, which leads me to believe that the houseguests had to vote for who they wanted out.

And the Week 8 Big Brother Season 28 HOH is…

Then, Drew won the Week 8 Head of Household competition, and he really needed the win.

He nominated LaTrice, Taylor, and Yash for eviction, which was no surprise, since those three were planning on evicting him if he was on the block against Mallory or Taylor at the vote.

On Saturday evening, the Veto was played, and Yash won.

This means Drew must name a replacement nominee at the Veto meeting on Monday, and his pool of replacements is small as Big Brother Season 28 enters its final weeks.

He can only pick from Angela, Barrett, Dee, Devens, and Melody. Drew has been closely aligned with all of them.

We caught Angela, Dee, and Devens chatting pre-veto, and Angela and Dee said they do not want to volunteer to be a replacement.

They’ve already been on the block once before, so Devens admitted that he would go up and would win the Blockbuster.

This is a worst-case scenario for the icons because if he’s still on the block come Thursday, there’s a chance that Angela and Dee would vote out the other person on the block.

Barrett was coming for the veterans on Thursday and even said he would vote against Drew if he was on the block against Mallory or Taylor.

This is huge, so I’m struggling to watch Barrett now be pro-veterans on the feeds. Is he trying to avoid the block, or is there something more going on here?

Even as I write this, Yash is telling Drew that he could do something to make this HOH memorable, and that means targeting the veterans.

No matter what, the reality TV alums seem to keep escaping danger at every turn.

I don’t see Drew putting Angela up because she hasn’t put him on the block.

Drew’s target for this week is LaTrice. He’ll have to consider what he has to do to get her out.

But there are still quite a few days before the next eviction, so he could change his plans by then.

What are your thoughts on the winner of the Veto and how it impacts the rest of the week?

Let’s keep the conversation going — it’s the only way the good stuff survives.
