Britney Spears and Sam Asghari officially tied the knot on Thursday, June 9. The singer looked stunning in a custom Versace gown during the ceremony, held at their private residence in Los Angeles. After Spears shared in November that Donatella Versace would be her wedding-dress designer, fans eagerly awaited the reveal, and the anticipation was worth it. The wedding gown totally delivered in effortless sophistication and silhouette mastery.
The white off-the-shoulder dress featured a plunging neckline and a corseted top with a boned bodice. It flowed into a maxi skirt with a thigh-high slit on the left and a long, cascading train attached to the back. She paired the gown with a floor-grazing sheer veil, enhancing the romantic elegance of the ensemble. Spears accessorized with a white ribbon choker necklace with a gold jewel at the center and sheer gloves matching her veil. She wore jewelry exclusively from Stephanie Gottlieb as she walked down the aisle. Her blond waves, parted in the middle, fell past her shoulders while her makeup mostly consisted of a smoky eye, pink blush, and a pink lip. Spears later changed into different outfits for the ceremony, one of which involved a mini red body-con dress with fringe sleeves. Meanwhile, Asghari looked dapper next to her in a black tuxedo suit.
The couple got married in front of their friends, including Madonna, Paris Hilton, Kathy Hilton, and Drew Barrymore. This is Spears’s third marriage, and she wears a beautiful round-cut diamond engagement ring from New York City jeweler Roman Malayev as a token of the couple’s love. Last year, Spears indulged in a photo shoot wearing a sugar-pink gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a boned corset, using the opportunity to post a few pics on Instagram for her supportive fans and clarify that, although pretty, the dress was not the one she’d be wearing down the aisle. “No … this is not my wedding dress 👗 bahahah !!!! Donatella Versace is making my dress as we speak 🤫 …. Have a good night folks 🌙💖✨ !!!!” Spears teased.
Spears enjoyed moments in Versace in the 2000s. She wore a sparkling mesh minidress to the 2008 MTV VMAs and attended the fashion house’s spring 2003 show in Milan, posing with Donatella Versace backstage. The designer even recounted the memory back in May, writing on her Instagram, “I’ll never forget when you came and stayed with me Britney, you were and will always be magical!!!!” We can’t wait to see what Spears and Versace will dream up for the special day to come. We can only hope they’ll be influenced by the glitz and glam of Spears’s style in the early aughts, because we still are.
