Is Bottega Veneta’s Matthieu Blazy Going To Chanel?

Could Chanel’s next creative director be Matthieu Blazy? It’s possible, according to Miss Tweed. The site shared today that Blazy is a frontrunner for the brand’s creative director position, which has been open since former creative director Virginie Viard abruptly left in June. What Blazy’s Chanel would look like—and if he’ll take the job—remains to be seen, as he’s currently creative director for Bottega Veneta. However, he isn’t the only one in the running. Rumor has it that Thom Browne, Jacquemus’ Simon Porte Jacquemus, and Alaïa’s Pieter Mulier are all candidates for the role. Plus, Marc Jacobs—who’s been a desirable Chanel candidate for months now—openly said he’s up for the job in his latest New York Times feature. We’ll see what mid-December (when the new creative director is rumored to be announced) has in store!

Editorial Layoffs Hit NYLON & Marie Claire

Editorial media’s difficult year has continued this week, with more layoffs hitting NYLON (part of wider layoffs at parent company Bustle Digital Group) and Marie Claire. Though we don’t know how many staff members have been cut from each brand, things aren’t looking good. NYLON‘s losses include senior social media strategist Kelly Christine Reed, while Marie Claire’s lost its morning editor Iris Goldsztajn. Sad day! Both companies’ cuts mark the latest round of media layoffs in 2024, which have impacted Footwear News, WWD, Highsnobiety, Fashionista, Time, The Los Angeles Times, and Sports Illustrated so far.

Heidi Klum & Rankin Celebrate 20 Years As Collaborators!

We love a muse! Heidi Klum would certainly know a thing or two about being one, as she’s been muse to photographer Rankin for 20 years. To commemorate their impressive hallmark, the pair have teamed up on a new editorial series together. Naturally, Klum is front and center, wearing signature graphic T-shirts by Rankin—which are available in the photographer’s Rankin SWAG shop. Cheers to 20 years—and many more!

Jingle all the way! Michael Kors is kicking the holiday season into full gear with his latest campaign, “It’s Lit.” To celebrate the special time of year in New York City, Kors has tapped a fashionable crew to star in the new imagery by Jared Kocka. The designer’s merriest and brightest includes Amelia Gray, Delilah Belle Hamlin, Patricia Field, Harry Daniels, and Morgan Jay, all styled by Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. But that’s not all—the campaign has also launched as a short film directed by Bardia Zeinali, inspired by downtown NYC and the community built around bodegas. Alton Mason, Sherry Shi, and Nyagua Ruea make additional cameos, while an exclusive version of “Jingle Bells” by Alex Chapman serves as a cheery soundtrack! You can check out the full film now on YouTube, coinciding with Kors’ holiday launches on MichaelKors.com.
