Crosby wants Rodgers to join Raiders: ‘He’s going to have a big year’

Edge rusher Maxx Crosby is hoping Aaron Rodgers will become the Las Vegas Raiders’ new starting quarterback.

“I think he’s going to have a big year this year, and I hope it’s in our town,” Crosby recently said on his “The Rush Podcast,” according to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden.

Rodgers, 41, has been linked to several teams lately, including the quarterback-needy Raiders, since the New York Jets announced Feb. 13 that they plan to part ways with him after two seasons.

The four-time NFL MVP completed 63% of his passes for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns against 11 interceptions in 2024 after going down with a season-ending Achilles injury in 2023. Crosby believes that production is a sign of good things to come.

“The first year off an Achilles (injury) is one of the hardest things to do. … (Rodgers) struggled early on, but he got better as the season went,” Crosby said.

Rodgers has now thrown fewer than 30 TDs and more than 10 INTs in the last two full seasons he’s played, including his final campaign with the Green Bay Packers in 2022. He’d previously won consecutive MVP awards in 2020 and 2021 while passing for 85 touchdowns and only nine interceptions in total.

The Raiders have lacked consistency at QB. They started three different passers in 2024 en route to going 4-13.

Sam Darnold and Russell Wilson are other veteran quarterbacks who are expected to be available when free agency kicks off next week.
