Earth’ Trailer Sends Many Deadly Creatures on a Collision Course With Earth

FX is celebrating Alien Day with a new trailer for Alien: Earth, one teasing that there might be more horrors out in space than just the Xenomorph. April 26th has now been lovingly referred to by fans as Alien Day, in honor of the planet from the first film, LV-426. While several short teasers for Alien: Earth were released over the last few days, many expected FX to reveal the premiere date for the upcoming series on Alien Day. Fans didn’t get a release date, but they got an exciting tease for the series, franchise, and future.

The 42-second clip reveals a spaceship with compartments containing various unspecified alien species. The narration says, “This ship collected five different lifeforms from the darkest corners of the universe. Each one a unique, deadly species. Monsters.” Then a classic Xenomorph emerges from atop one of the crates and jumps at the camera. The teaser did not reveal the premiere date, repeating only that it will be in summer 2025.

Wild New Rumor Suggests ‘Alien’ and ‘Predator’ Crossover Is Coming Sooner Than Expected

According to a new rumor, the upcoming sequel to ‘Alien: Romulus’ could make a huge leap towards a new ‘Alien/Predator’ crossover.

Given the title, it was safe to assume that Alien: Earth would feature the iconic Xenomorph. At first, fans might think these are just different types of Xenomorphs, like those teased in Alien: Covenant or even the iconic Alien 3 toy line, which featured Xenomorphs taking on the traits of various animals. Yet the reveal of five different, unique species is certainly a game-changer for the franchise. This suggests that the Xenomorph is just one of the horrors hiding in the cosmos, leaving plenty of speculation about what Alien: Earth might have in store.

What Horrors Lie Beyond The Stars

The Alien franchise already features two distinct alien species, aside from the Xenomorph. The first are the Engineers, which fans refer to as Space Jockeys, the creators of the Xenomorphs and humanity, as shown in Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Their inclusion as one of the species in question might be ruled out just because the species is taller than the creatures shown in the trailer, and creator Noah Hawley said the series won’t connect to those earlier Alien prequels. The other possibility is, of course, some kind of connection to The Predator.

Despite Ridley Scott going out of his way to ignore the Alien vs. Predator films as canon, it appears that 20th Century Studios is embracing them, as the latest trailer for Predator: Badlands confirmed that Elle Fanning’s character is a Weyland-Yutani synthetic. Rumors are now suggesting director Fede Álvarez might be including a Predator in his Alien: Romulus follow-up. The Predator: Badlands trailer already showcased a plethora of new aliens, so there might be some crossover between what is seen in Alien: Earth and Predator: Badlands. Notably, the animated anthology film, Predator: Killer of Killers, will air on Hulu this summer, likely in the lead-up to Alien: Earth. It appears that 20th Century Studios are really making sure that audiences have both cosmic horrors on their mind this year.
