Evolve Med Spa and Emily Fernandez on the Pursuit of Consistency in Medical Aesthetics

How a community-rooted brand built around clinical standards and personalized client experience expanded across four states without losing sight of the individual patient

Growth is often celebrated in the aesthetics industry. New locations open, treatment menus expand, and brands compete for attention in an increasingly crowded marketplace.

What receives less attention is a more difficult challenge: maintaining consistency as a business grows.

For Evolve Med Spa, that challenge has shaped much of the company’s journey. Since opening its first location in Hoboken, New Jersey, in 2020, the brand has expanded to 14 locations across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

Along the way, its leadership team has focused on a question that extends beyond expansion itself: How can a growing organization ensure that every client receives the same level of care, expertise, and attention regardless of location?

That question sits at the center of Evolve’s approach to medical aesthetics.

Building Around More Than Treatments
The aesthetics industry has evolved dramatically in recent years. Today’s clients are often more informed than ever, researching everything from dermal fillers and neurotoxin treatments to microneedling, laser skin resurfacing, and body contouring before they ever schedule a consultation.

As treatment options have expanded, so have expectations.

Evolve’s leadership team believed there was room for a different model, one that paired rigorous medical oversight with a more welcoming and collaborative client experience.

According to the company, the goal was to create an environment where “the highest clinical benchmarks and safety measures were the baseline of every single treatment.”

That philosophy continues to influence how the organization approaches aesthetic medicine today. Rather than emphasizing one-size-fits-all solutions, the focus remains on customized aesthetic plans designed around individual goals, concerns, and long-term outcomes.

A Foundation Built on Collaboration
Part of Evolve’s growth story is rooted in its leadership structure. The company was founded through a partnership between Emily Fernandez, co-founder and vice president of operations; Dr. Oz Fernandez, co-founder and medical director; and Austin Jacobus, co-founder and vice president of clinical.

Together, they brought expertise in operations, medical oversight, and clinical training under a unified vision.

“We aren’t just growing a business footprint,” the team explains. “We are maintaining a boutique, high-touch client experience across 14 distinct communities.”

That emphasis on alignment has become increasingly important as the organization has expanded. Leadership regularly points to communication between operations, marketing, clinical teams, and client experience departments as a critical component of maintaining quality standards across locations.

Raising the Standard for Patient-Centered Care
In many ways, Evolve’s story reflects broader conversations across the medical aesthetics field. Clients today are looking for more than advanced aesthetic procedures. They are also evaluating clinical expertise, the safety of aesthetic treatments, professional skincare protocols, and the overall quality of their experience.

The company’s approach combines medical-grade skincare, clinical skincare services, facial balancing strategies, and non-surgical rejuvenation treatments within a framework centered on patient-centered care.

Recognition has followed. Over the years, Evolve Med Spa has earned multiple regional “Best Med Spa” distinctions and consumer-choice awards, as well as editorial recognition for its clinical approach and brand development.

Still, leadership views those milestones as secondary to the experience clients receive.

“Our goal is absolute consistency across every single touchpoint,” the company notes. Whether someone discovers the brand through an editorial feature, social media, or a consultation, the expectation is that the experience reflects the same commitment to quality and experience.

Looking Beyond Growth
As Evolve Med Spa continues to expand, its vision remains focused on becoming a trusted authority within medical aesthetics while maintaining the standards that fueled its early growth.

The company’s leaders often speak about the importance of intentional scaling. They insist that growth only matters if it preserves the integrity of the client experience.

That perspective may explain why Evolve’s story resonates beyond aesthetics alone. At a time when many brands are focused solely on getting bigger, Evolve Med Spa has built its identity around something more difficult to achieve: staying consistent as it grows.
