Billie Eilish’s Cropped Angel-Graphic T-Shirt on Instagram

Billie Eilish posted the ultimate ’90s-grunge throwback outfit on Instagram, hoisting herself up onto the arms of her chair to show off her look in full. The 21-year-old musician, who’s in the press for her recent split from singer-songwriter Jesse Rutherford, has always curated a wardrobe that can be considered a mixed bag, consisting of baggy cargos and sweat sets, romantic dresses and sneakers, and logo tights and platforms. But no outfit is quite as reflective of her penchant for throwback styles as this one.

Hanging out in what appears to be an on-set closet, Eilish sported a cropped angel-graphic tee with black cap sleeves that came right to her belly-button ring. Eilish played up the hardware with a diamond choker necklace peeking out from her loose, dark waves that fell to her shoulders. She coordinated the top with low-slung denim woven with a rainbow-striped fabric belt reminiscent of the ones from the early aughts — all the better to draw attention to the top of her dragon tattoo, which climbs from her thigh to her hip and is said to symbolize power, wisdom, and strength. Makeup-wise, Eilish opted for a soft pink lip and smudgy liner under her eyes. Finally, a blue, orange, and black windbreaker hung over the chair behind her, likely making for the finishing touch to her look.

Eilish attended the 2023 Met Gala with her brother, Finneas, earlier this month, opting for a black lace “naked” dress by Simone Rocha layered over an Agent Provocateur corset. She dressed up the ensemble with glittering barrettes and bows in her hair, explaining to Emma Chamberlain in a video recorded for Vogue that she was going for an abundance of mixed fabrics and wanted to appear “kind of thrown.” Before that, Eilish’s last red carpet appearance with Rutherford was at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscars party on March 12, where she tapped into a similar aesthetic in a voluminous black Rick Owens dressed, accessorized with Chrome Hearts jewelry and also worn over an Agent Provocateur corset.
