Christina Aguilera’s Black Latex Venus Prototype Dress

Christina Aguilera‘s latex dress was just as impressive as her performance at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 29. While she arrived on the red carpet in a custom red lace Buerlangma dress with a high side slit and leggings peeking out underneath, she took the stage in this plunging gown that evoked black-tie dominatrix. Both looks at the ceremony were brought to life with the help of her stylist, Chris Horan.

The striking performance number was courtesy of Venus Prototype and Violet Star, a Latina-owned brand founded by a mother-daughter team specializing in formfitting rubber and latex pieces. Dramatic from top to bottom, the gown came in a mermaid silhouette that perfectly hugged Aguilera’s curves and flared out below her knees. The look also included elegantly pronounced shoulder pads that framed her figure. The corseted bodice and neckline added unique elements to an otherwise classically shaped gown.

The 41-year-old Spirit of Hope Award winner completed her look with diamond jewelry from Gismondi 1754 to accent her edgy dress. She wore a short necklace, along with earrings that featured similar spike details. Aguilera slicked her hair back into a ponytail that split into two braids, which fell to both sides of her shoulders.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Aguilera in a latex gown. In fact, her dress at last year’s 2021 Latin Grammys was very similar, made from the same material with dramatic shoulders and a built-in corset.
