Dove Cameron’s edgy style streak continues, and her appearance at the “Good Mourning” world premiere afterparty in Beverly Hills on Thursday, May 12, is the latest example. The actress arrived at The London West Hollywood in an all-black, floor-sweeping Marc Jacobs ensemble that made her entrance hard to miss.
The three-piece look involved a bra top layered with rows of small round discs; an oversize logo-embossed, hooded coat falling into a train; and a matching maxi skirt that could be mistaken for two elastic drawstring sweatpants worn on top of each other. Cameron balanced the dark mood of the set with a soft touch by exposing her midriff and bare neck, but she doubled down on the dark glamour with black shield sunglasses. Her pink blush and lip, however, further added to the feminine contrast, tying the two sartorial themes together nicely.
Her afterparty look is vaguely reminiscent of the black tube top and pink ruffled skirt she donned for the GLAAD Awards earlier this week, which also presented an edgy brand of feminine glamour. Cameron is entering a new era of her personal style, and a dark color palette is central to that, as exemplified by these recent style moments and the black corset and sweatpants she wore for her “Tonight Show” performance in last month.
The “Descendants” star posed with Machine Gun Kelly, who directed the movie set to be released on Friday, May 20, with his friend Mod Sun. For the occasion, the rapper embraced one of spring’s biggest color trends in a hot-pink tuxedo suit and turtleneck top embroidered with a red rose motif. Kelly joined Megan Fox on the red carpet earlier that night, posing alongside his fiancée, who wore a sparkling strapless bustier dress with a thigh-high slit and a sweetheart neckline from Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini.
