The benefit of spending as much time on social media as I do is that you become pretty familiar with what’s trending in fashion — and more specifically, what fashion brands celebrities can’t seem to get enough of. Most recently, my aimless Instagram scrolling introduced me to Frasier Sterling, the whimsical, Y2K-inspired brand behind some of Justin Bieber and Bella Hadid’s most-worn accessories. The brand has a signature look to it that teams modern jewelry silhouettes with bubbly charms and accents, which play into peak nostalgia lore — and honestly feel like the kind of pieces you’d find in the wardrobe of a young Paris Hilton or Britney Spears.

Having been born in the late ’90s, I’ve always felt like I missed out on getting to enjoy the style fads of the early aughts to their full glory — I was too young for Tamagotchis, too late to all of the dangerously low-rise-jean trends (and honestly thankful for it), and just barely old enough to appreciate Lisa Frank in its heyday. Perhaps that’s why I was so excited to discover Frasier Sterling’s retro-inspired collection of accessories, which gives Gen Zers the chance to embrace all the quirky fashion mania they missed out on — and millennials a chance to relive them all again (often to their own dismay).

“What sets Frasier Sterling apart is how agile we are — we’ve really been able to be at the forefront of so many jewelry and accessory trends over the past 12 years; it’s what makes us the go-to brand for so many customers and celebs alike,” Frasier Lipton, the founder and creative genius behind the brand, tells POPSUGAR. She also notes that having the brand be embraced by some of the world’s biggest fashion stars has made it “feel larger than life” in a lot of ways. “I am so grateful for every celebrity who has worn my designs; it has really helped put the brand on the map and allowed me to do what I love every day.”

The brand was kind enough to send me a few of its most popular pieces to style and test out on my own, including the Monaco Cord Choker ($36), Lovers Hoops ($40), and Supernova Cord Choker ($38). My gut analysis is that the label is worth every bit of the celeb hype it’s received, but keep reading to see my full breakdown of these whimsical baubles and why I think they’re especially perfect for summer.

What I Like About Frasier Sterling’s Jewelry

I love that these pieces — namely the choker necklaces and hoop earrings — look so luxurious, despite their affordable price tags. Most of the brand’s jewelry selection boasts prices of under $100, which is ideal for anyone who (like me) loves experimenting with different TikTok aesthetics and trends but doesn’t necessarily have the budget to go all out each time a new fad rolls around. Each accessory is thoughtfully made with durable (yet still totally comfortable) materials I’m confident will hold up well over time. And despite its wide-ranging fan base, to me, the Frasier Sterling brand feels less like an homage to Y2K fashion and more like a gateway label for those who desperately wanted to tap into the trends of the early aughts the first time around. I love that as a loyal shopper, I can always expect to see new pieces debut each season, and I appreciate the bevy of customization options, so I have the option to make many pieces my own.

What’s Worth Noting

My only critique of these pieces is that despite their chicness, I question if the accessories are a bit too trendy to hold up for the long term. While the Y2K fashion aesthetic is all the rage right now, I’m less confident the accessories will feel as relevant five years from now, and therefore might not be a true staple in my jewelry box. The benefit of Frasier Sterling’s wide jewelry selection is that most of the pieces are incredibly affordable, so they don’t require a huge splurge, even if you aren’t sure you’ll still want to wear them next season.
