Lil Nas X’s iHeartRadio 2021 Jingle Ball Metallic Outfit

We’d officially like to thank Lil Nas X for identifying a massive chrome hole in our wardrobes. Like a character straight out of his fantasy-packed music video, the “Montero” singer hit the stage at iHeartRadio’s 2021 Jingle Ball on Nov. 30 in a head-to-toe silver outfit custom designed by Adolfo Sanchez. The look, made up of a metallic kilt and cropped puffer jacket, was an artistic assembly of chrome panels, leather straps, and buckles that was basically made to to compliment the next dystopian movie protagonist.

“This was so much fun to create and bring to life. @lilnasx is so playful with fashion I had a great time creating all these looks,” Adolfo captioned an Instagram post on Dec. 1. “Thank you to my amazing team for all the endless hours and late nights that went into making this happen. 🙏🏼❤️✨.”

With a look so frosty, Adolfo couldn’t forget the accessories, adorning the kilt with an oversized external pocket and dressing up the cutout sleeves with buckles along the arms to match the cross-body clasp across Lil Nas X’s bare chest. The silver manicure, matching grill, and diamond butterfly earrings definitely gave us a taste for all things sparkly, but our favorite part of the outfit had to be the silver combat boots with built-in socks (how convenient!).

As a great undersea robot once said, “Everything is chrome in the future,” and Lil Nas X is certainly living his 39th century dream. See his radiant look from all angles — on stage and on the red carpet — here.
