American Ballet Theatre hosted its Fall Gala to showcase Lifted

ABT’s Fall season is well underway at David H. Koch Theater. Last night’s Fall Gala brought out the city’s most stylish patrons of the arts to witness the world premiere of Christopher Rudd’s new ballet Lifted. The ballet features a cast and crew made up entirely of Black dancers and creatives, including New York-based designer Carly Cushnie for costumes. Gala attendees gathered to watch the performance, which is set to music by Kennedy Center Composer-in-Residence Carlos Simon with a live orchestra led by Conductor Roderick Cox. Afterwards, guests sat to enjoy a black tie dinner on the promenade. Among those in attendance were Amy Astley, Anh Duong, Antoni Porowski, Coco Rocha, Deborah Valdez-Hung, Keith Lieberthal, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Nikki Kynard & Aku Orraca-Tette, Sunny Hostin, Sutton Stracke, ABT CEO & executive director Janet Rollé, ABT principal dancers Misty Copeland, James Whiteside, Isabella Boylston, and Calvin Royal III, amongst others. The event honored ABT Trustee Patricia R. Morton with The Melville Straus Leadership Achievement Award and the program also included Jiří Kylián’s high-spirited Sinfonietta, last performed by ABT in 2014.

Ivy Getty hosted a Halloween party at Chapel Bar

In need of last minute costume inspiration ahead of this weekend’s fright night celebrations? Look no further. Last night, party people joined artist and model Ivy Getty for a costume bash at members club Chapel Bar at Fotografiska NYC. Getty, fittingly, opted for her take on Poison Ivy in a custom-designed costume by Paul Burgo, while other guests cosplayed as everything from Marie Antoinette to The Beatles. But, if we’re playing favorites, it was The Simple Life duo in their dungarees for us. Among those in attendance (see if you can spot them!) were  Brooke Wise, Peter Brant, Lo Bosworth, Zuri Marley, Violetta Komyshan, Arianna Margulis, Hugo Renaudin, Sophia Anne Caruso, Christie Tyler, Zach Weiss, and more.
