Fast & Furious Turns into a Western in Surprising Fan Art

Summary

  • Fast & Furious, known for its crazy action scenes, could work in other genres like a classic Western film with horses replacing cars.
  • The main saga of Fast & Furious is coming to an end after over 20 years, but there are future projects confirmed, including a solo film for Dwayne Johnson’s character.
  • The future of the Fast & Furious universe is uncertain, but there may be more stories focusing on the various characters that have been part of the franchise, including a female-led movie.

Fast & Furious gets reimagined as a classic Western film in surprising but accurate fan art, with horses replacing the characteristic cars. Fast & Furious may always get slammed by critics and sometimes even by its own fans for the poor quality of the scripts and the extremely crazy and unrealistic action scenes. However, no one can deny that the franchise led by Vin Diesel has made a name for itself within cinema history thanks to some amazing performances at the box office.

But could this crazy story filled with impossible action sequences work in any other genre? Maybe it can. AI artist AI Dreams proved it by generating a series of images turning the world of Fast & Furious into a classic Hollywood Western movie, and it looks surprisingly accurate:

Fast & Furious started as drama set in the underground world of street racing, and evolved quickly into an action-packed thriller mixing espionage elements with themes related to technology. In fact, fans have joked in the past that the franchise could end up including time-travel in its plot, so who knows? If the franchise does continue down other spin-off avenues in future, then a western-based setting could appear.

What’s Next for Fast & Furious?

Universal Pictures

The main saga is finally ready to come to an end after more than 20 years. After the events of Fast X, which introduced the definitive villain of the story played by Jason Momoa, Dominic Toretto and his family are preparing for their final battle, which could take place in one movie or maybe two, that’s not clear yet as director Louis Leterrier recently stated.

Even if the final chapter is not divided into two more films, there are more projects coming down the line. At the end of Fast X, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made his triumphant return to the franchise as Luke Hobbs, and it was confirmed that he’ll be joining the rest of the cast for the epic finale. But that’s not all. The character will be starring in a new solo film after trying to build a new franchise with Hobbs & Shaw, with a story that will center on how Momoa’s character, Dante Reyes has been trying to hunt Hobbs down too.

As the main story wraps up, the future of the Fast & Furious universe still remains a mystery, since Diesel has repeatedly expressed his desire to build more stories focusing on some of the many characters that have been part of the saga. For now, the only project that has been consistently mentioned is the female-led movie that would reunite all the women that have been part of the franchise in one epic adventure, but many other spin-offs could be announced in the future.
