In 2026, the worlds of fashion and beauty are redefining the meaning of luxury. Runway hair is no longer about flawless perfection—it is about healthy texture, individuality, movement, and technically refined craftsmanship. Behind these seemingly effortless looks are highly skilled professionals who understand not only trends, but also hair structure, restoration science, color chemistry, and long-term hair health.
International hairstylist, educator, entrepreneur, and Fashion Week professional Olena Sydorova believes this transformation is reshaping the role of the modern hairstylist. Today, the strongest beauty professionals are no longer simply service providers. They are image creators, technical experts, educators, and trusted advisors who help clients express their individuality while preserving the health and integrity of their hair.
“Fashion is constantly evolving, but beautiful hair always begins with knowledge,” Sydorova says. “A true hairstylist must see the complete image, understand the condition of the hair, and choose techniques that create a powerful visual result without compromising its health.”
Her philosophy reflects her own professional journey. Olena began her career in Odesa, Ukraine, graduating from a hairdressing school in 2003. After relocating to Kyiv in 2007, she continued her education at S&A Group and VT Academy under renowned hairstylist Volodymyr Tarasyk. By 2015, she had earned two university degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Design specializing in Hairdressing Art and Decorative Cosmetics from the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, and a Master’s Degree in Education from the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University.
The combination of extensive salon experience, design education, and teaching methodology became the foundation of an international career that now bridges professional beauty, education, fashion, and entrepreneurship.
“I never wanted to teach techniques as a sequence of mechanical steps. My goal has always been to help professionals understand why a technique works, how it affects the hair, and how it can be adapted to each individual client.”
In 2017, Sydorova founded ES Hair Salon in Bucha, Ukraine. Four years later, she established ES Hair School in Kyiv. After relocating to Europe, she continued teaching in both Prague and Ukraine. Today, she is developing ES Hair Studio USA in Florida while leading international educational initiatives for beauty professionals around the world.
Her educational project later received international accreditation from Global Creative Masters (Switzerland) and was recognized as a Subject of High-Quality Professional Education. According to Sydorova, this recognition confirmed the importance of creating structured, internationally relevant educational programs in an industry driven by rapid innovation and constantly evolving trends.
Her career has also been closely connected with the fashion industry. Sydorova has worked backstage at Orlando International Fashion Week, Florida Men’s Fashion Week, Sunny Isles Fashion Week, and Smart Swimsuits Runway. She is the winner of numerous national and international beauty championships and has also served as a judge at the World Beauty Championship.
According to Sydorova, backstage work requires hairstylists to combine speed, discipline, creativity, and exceptional teamwork. Every hairstyle must complement the designer’s vision, remain camera-ready, and withstand changing lighting conditions, movement, and demanding production schedules.
“Fashion Week teaches you to make decisions quickly without ever losing sight of the designer’s vision. Hair is part of the story a collection tells. It can make a look feel romantic, futuristic, powerful, effortless, or architectural.”
Among the defining beauty trends of 2026, Sydorova highlights personalized texture, polished yet wearable styling, multidimensional hair color, and restorative treatments. Clients increasingly seek editorial-quality results that remain practical for everyday life. As a result, demand continues to grow for professionals capable of translating runway inspiration into customized salon experiences.
Technology is also becoming an essential part of the modern hairstylist’s toolkit. Artificial intelligence can assist with trend analysis, visual references, scheduling, client communication, and marketing. However, Sydorova believes technology will never replace the artistic judgment and human connection at the heart of professional hairdressing.
“Technology helps us work more efficiently, but it cannot feel the condition of the hair, understand a client’s emotions, or make artistic decisions in real time. The strongest professionals will be those who embrace innovation without sacrificing craftsmanship, empathy, and creative vision.”
Despite her championship titles, international accreditation, judging experience, and extensive Fashion Week portfolio, Sydorova considers the achievements of her students to be her greatest professional accomplishment. Many have gone on to establish successful salons, become educators, win prestigious competitions, and build respected careers across multiple countries.
“When a student becomes confident enough to build a successful career, open a business, or teach others, that is my greatest achievement.”
From her early career in Odesa to international runways, educational institutions, championships, and global professional initiatives, Olena Sydorova’s journey reflects the future direction of the beauty industry in 2026—global, education-driven, technologically advanced, and increasingly focused on individuality and healthy hair.
For the fashion industry, where every detail contributes to the final image, her message is simple: trends may change every season, but expertise, technical excellence, and a strong creative vision will always remain timeless.
