Slipknot have sold a majority stake in their music catalogue to HarbourView Equity Partners – find out more below.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the nine-piece masked metallers from Iowa were looking to sell their past music catalogue following their split from Roadrunner Records in 2022 with ‘The End, So Far’.

At the time, it was reported that Slipknot’s back music catalogue was valued at $120million, and would include ownership rights to their publishing and master recording royalties.

Now, HarbourView Equity Partners have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that they’ve finalised a deal with the nu-metal icons. While neither the band nor the company divulged the finalised amount, they did confirm that the deal includes publishing and royalty rights.

Slipknot’s founding percussionist and band leader Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan said in a statement: “After 25 years of taking on the music business, we find ourselves with a partner that is willing to sign onto continuing what Slipknot started. Only they want to go even bigger. Get ready. Hail The Knot.”

Sherrese Clarke, founder and CEO of HarbourView Equity Partners added: “Slipknot’s music has redefined heavy metal and created a global cultural phenomenon… We pride ourselves on having our finger on the pulse of culture and with thorough analysis of audience engagement, we clearly see the cultural impact of Slipknot from the 1990’s to present. The enduring and relevant proof points with Slipknot remain core to our investing thesis, and HarbourView is honored to help preserve and amplify the group’s work for decades and generations to come.”

In other news, Slipknot’s new drummer Eloy Casagrande recently revealed that the band are working on new music. “We are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure,” he said.

The band have yet to release any new material since 2022’s ‘The End, So Far’, though they teased a new song ‘Long May You Die’, recorded shortly after Casagrande joined in early 2024. Nothing has come out of that tease so far.
