Brianne Howey doesn’t just play a mom on TV anymore — now she’s one in real life, too. On June 18, the “Ginny & Georgia” star revealed on Instagram that she and her husband, Matt Ziering, have welcomed their first child together.
Howey announced the news by sharing a photo of herself smiling in a hospital bed with her newborn cradled on her chest. She and Ziering have not yet shared the baby’s name. “My whole world just got a whole lot sweeter,” she captioned her post. “And smaller. Welcome my little love.”
The actor’s comment section was quickly filled with well wishes from her “Ginny & Georgia” family, including her onscreen daughter, Antonia Gentry. “OH MY GOD CONGRATULATIONS,” Gentry wrote. Sara Waisglass, who plays Max on the show, added, “sobbing. congratulations mama!!!” And Waisglass’s onscreen twin, Felix Mallard, chimed in with, “Congratulations to you both!!!!!”
Even Diesel La Torraca, who plays Georgia’s young son, Austin, commented. “Our teeniest tiniest lil peach is HERE!!!!” he wrote. “Love you Momma well done!!!”
Howey first announced she was expecting in a March post on Instagram. The 34-year-old showed off her growing baby bump prior to heading out to a Hugo Boss fashion show. “@boss show with my forever new +1,” she captioned the photo.
The actor and Ziering, who is a lawyer, were married in July 2021. While Howey tends to keep her family life private for the most part, she did share how she met her husband in a 2021 interview with Los Angeles Magazine. “We ran into each other three nights in a row at a couple bars in L.A.,” she revealed. Five years later, they were all set to get married when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020. The couple canceled their original wedding plans and got a dog (Bodie) instead before exchanging their “I dos” in 2021.
Now they’ve added another member to their growing family, and Howey (and her castmates) couldn’t be happier.
