The 2024 Democratic National Convention was a veritable who’s who of celebrity sightings, with stars showing up in force to support Vice President Kamala Harris and vice presidential nominee Tim Walz.

Here’s a look at some of the celebrities that were spotted at the 2024 DNC, both on and off the stage.

Scandal actress Kerry Washington served as host for the final night of the DNC. After her speech, Washington brought her Scandal co-star Tony Goldwyn to the stage, followed by Harris’s great-nieces, Amara and Leela Ajagu, to teach everyone how to correctly pronounce Harris’s first name.

Pop star Alecia Beth Hart Moore, known professionally as Pink, performed ahead of Vice President Harris’s official nomination at the convention. She was joined by her 13-year-old daughter, Willow Sage Hart.

Country trio the Chicks — formerly known as the Dixie Chicks — performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” on Thursday night. This marked the second time the group has sung the national anthem for DNC, following their 2020 virtual performance.

The Abbott Elementary and Dreamgirls actress was in attendance on the final night of the DNC. The Tony-nominated artist spoke with BET about the significance of Harris’s nomination for Black women. “There is incredible historic significance in this moment,” she said.

In a special DNC event, Seinfeld and Veep actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus hosted the Democratic Women Governors Forum. The panel featured the country’s eight female governors.

Hidden Figures actress Octavia Spencer co-hosted a concert at the DNC organized by the Creative Coalition, a nonprofit advocacy group consisting of members of the American entertainment industry. Busy Philipps, Jon Cryer, Yolonda Ross, Iain Armitage, Uzo Aduba, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Chris Witaske and Danai Gurira also attended the DNC on behalf of the Creative Coalition.

The Creative Coalition’s concert featured Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, with performances by Drive-By Truckers and SistaStrings.

Dawson’s Creek actress Busy Philipps attended the DNC on behalf of the Creative Coalition.

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey made a surprise appearance at the DNC on Wednesday. In her speech, Winfrey said she was a registered independent and called on other independents and undecideds to back the Harris-Walz ticket.

On Wednesday, comedian and SNL star Kenan Thompson took to the DNC stage with a large book meant to represent Project 2025. During the skit, Thompson took video calls from voters and read passages from the book that could impact their lives.

Grammy and Academy Award winner Stevie Wonder on Wednesday performed his 1972 song “Higher Ground.” Prior to performing, Wonder preached a message of unity.

“We must keep on keeping on until we are truly a united people of these United States and then we will reach a higher ground,” Wonder said.

Mindy Kaling took on the role of host on Wednesday. The Office writer and actress was the third star to emcee the 2024 DNC, following actor Tony Goldwyn on Monday and political commentator Ana Navarro on Tuesday. Kaling will be followed by actress Kerry Washington on Thursday.

On Wednesday, John Legend took the stage ahead of Tim Walz’s remarks. Together with singer Sheila E. and Ari O’Neal, he performed a rendition of Prince’s 1984 hit “Let’s Go Crazy.”

Grammy-winning country singer and songwriter Maren Morris performed her protest song “Better Than We Found It” on Wednesday. The song was released in 2020 following the death of George Floyd.

National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman debuted her new poem “This Sacred Scene” Wednesday. In 2021, the Harvard graduate delivered a reading of her poem “The Hill We Climb” at President Joe Biden’s inauguration, making Gorman the youngest inaugural poet in American history.

Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter was spotted at the DNC on Wednesday, where she posed with excited fans. Carter recently enthusiastically endorsed Harris for president.

Ex-aide of former President Donald Trump, Omarosa has posted several photo and video updates from the DNC, including footage of her purchasing a Kamala Harris 2024 T-shirt.

Rudy and The Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin joined the Indiana delegation on Tuesday’s roll call to help cast its 86 delegates for Harris and Walz. “I want what’s best for Indiana. That means electing Kamala Harris the first woman president of the United States of America,” Astin said.

Stephen Colbert, playing a hot dog vendor named Donny Franks, filmed an improvised spot with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at the DNC on Sunday. Colbert has also been hosting a week of live DNC episodes of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago.

Texas native Eva Longoria introduced her home state on Tuesday before passing the mic to former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards.

On Tuesday, Grammy- and Academy Award-winning rapper Common performed his 2024 track “Fortunate,” adapting his lyrics to include a message about Vice President Kamala Harris. The Chicago native was joined by gospel singer Jonathan McReynolds during the chorus.

R&B singer Patti LaBelle performed her 1978 ballad “You Are My Friend” during the “In Memoriam” segment Tuesday evening. The performance comes 20 years after her last appearance at the DNC, when she performed a cover of Sam Cooke’s classic “A Change Is Gonna Come.”

On Tuesday, an appearance from Grammy Award-winning artist and producer Lil Jon turned the roll call into a dance party when he unexpectedly performed his 2013 hit, “Turn Down for What.”

Malcom X director Spike Lee joined the New York delegation during Tuesday night’s roll call as Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’s “Empire State of Mind” played.

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill appeared alongside DNC Chair Jaime Harrison on Monday. Hamill also joined the “White Dudes for Harris” Zoom fundraiser for the Democratic presidential nominee, reciting Luke Skywalker’s lines as part of a $50,000 donation to the Harris campaign.

The Wire and Suits actor Wendell Pierce appeared with the Louisiana delegation on Tuesday, speaking on behalf of the state during the roll call.

Grammy-nominated singer Mickey Guyton performed her song “All American” on the first night of the convention.

Six-time Grammy Award winner James Taylor appeared at the DNC on Monday to rehearse for a performance of his song “You’ve Got a Friend,” but ended up getting bumped from the lineup.

Team USA and Golden State Warriors basketball coach Steve Kerr delivered a speech on Monday. “Coach to coach, that guy’s awesome,” Kerr said of Democratic vice presidential candidate Walz.

Actor Tony Goldwyn hosted the first night of the convention. Goldwyn played President Fitzgerald Grant for seven seasons on ABC’s hit show Scandal.

Grammy-winning country star Jason Isbell performed his song “Something More Than Free” on Monday. At the conclusion of his performance, Isbell shouted out his home state of Alabama’s delegation.

The View co-host Ana Navarro hosted the second night of the DNC. Navarro, a Nicaraguan-American, is a political commentator for networks including CNN and ABC, and an anti-Trump Republican.

Political Twitch streamer Hasan Piker appeared with the press, marking the first time influencers have been given press credentials at the DNC. Piker has over 2.7 million followers on Twitch.

Grandson of former President John F. Kennedy and TikTok sensation Jack Schlossberg spoke at the DNC on Tuesday about why he supports Kamala Harris for president.

“Once again the torch has been passed to a new generation. To a leader who shares my grandfather’s energy, vision and optimism for our future. That leader is Vice President Kamala Harris.”
