Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a UCL sprain in his left elbow, the team announced.
Morant has missed the last 29 games and will receive a platelet-rich plasma injection as part of his injury recovery.
The 26-year-old averaged 19.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 8.1 assists on 41% shooting in 20 games this season, the second-fewest appearances he’s made since his Rookie of the Year-winning campaign in 2019-20. He only appeared in nine games in 2023-24 due to a 25-game suspension and season-ending right shoulder surgery.
The team also announced that forward Brandon Clarke would not return this season with a right calf strain. Clarke has appeared in just two contests in 2025-26.
Second-year center Zach Edey also underwent a procedure on his left elbow and is expected to make a full recovery for 2026-27. Edey has made 11 appearances for Memphis this season.
The 24-47 Grizzlies are all but mathematically eliminated from postseason contention and sit nine-and-a-half games back of the Golden State Warriors for 10th place and the final play-in position. Memphis hosts the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
