Jacob Elordi as The Creature and Oscar Isaac as Baron Victor Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro’s FrankensteinNetflix
Guillermo del Toro‘s Frankenstein has officially come to life on Netflix. The long-awaited adaptation of Mary Shelley’s literary horror classic made its streaming debut on Nov. 7, following a disappointingly limited theatrical run. It seems that people were eager to see del Toro’s latest creation, as the big-budget creature feature garnered monster viewership in its first three days on the platform. The Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi-led drama managed to secure the number one spot on the streamer’s Top 10 Global Movies chart, where it currently remains ahead of Mango, A Time to Kill, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, and A House of Dynamite.
Netflix released its Top 10 rankings for the past week (Nov. 2 – Nov. 9) on Tuesday, which revealed that Frankenstein had claimed the No. 1 English-language film spot after attracting 29.1 million views in its first three days on the platform. The streamer further noted that the haunting horror remake appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries and secured the No. 1 position in 72 countries. Its staggering opening weekend marks one of the biggest movie debuts of 2025 for Netflix, charting in fifth place among the English-language titles to release this year, behind Havoc (28.9M views), The Old Guard 2 (37.5M views), Happy Gilmore 2 (46.7M views), and Back in Action (46.8M views), according to additional data shared by What’s on Netflix.
