Great expectations!
Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan give the ’80s babies what they want in their new music video.
A wistfully retro 1980s game show romp, the vid for expectations isn’t just a visual, it’s a transportation. A revelation. The channel you never realized you missed so much until now.

Not just with the theme of the video but the themes of the song itself. Some comments found include:
“The bisexuality anthem the world needed.”
“You guys don’t understand how meaningful it is to have a lesbian popstar openly singing about relationships with women and only women. We’ve had many lesbian singers before of course but so openly and in famous pop songs?! Truly an evolution for our community”
“THE LYRIC CHANGE FROM BOY TO GIRL OH MY GOSH.”
“I love how the song isn’t saying you should stop falling in love, but that you should stop settling for just anything because you’re in love. That difference completely changes how you approach a relationship.”
“whatever art direction and production team who was behind this video are actually geniuses omg its so cool”
“The 2D animations of Olivia and Chappell are SO charming, I can’t thank Olivia Rodrigo enough for highlighting real art in an era of AI slop. This is the perfect collab- two modern artists making classic songs- Roan with Good Luck Babe and now Olivia with Expectations. The songs are brand new but so good they’re classic.”
