It’s Hard to Trust Days of Our Lives Spoilers for The Week of 5-04-26 That Claim Sophia Is Really Dead

The biggest question for Days of Our Lives fans isn’t whether Kristen will pay for what she did to Sophia — it’s whether Sophia is really dead.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-04-26 suggest that Sophia is gone permanently, leaving everyone stunned and confused.

But we’ve gone down this road too many times before to believe it, especially with EJ working on resurrecting Lexie at the same time that Kristen supposedly killed Sophia.

Sophia’s Alleged Death At The River Is Too Similar to Nick’s

Days of Our Lives ended the week of 4-27-26 with a shocking cliffhanger: Kristen knocking Sophia out with a rock and throwing her in the river.

It seems she is dead, as Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 45-04-26 have Jada giving Amy upsetting news and the college set processing their complicated feelings about their enemy.

If I believed that Sophia was dead, these scenes might be extremely emotional, especially the discussion between Holly, Tate, and Ari.

They were all friends once, before Sophia declared war on everyone and came up with an elaborate, unnecessary plan to destroy Holly’s life that used Rachel as an unwitting accomplice.

And moments before Sophia disappeared, Holly told her that sometimes she wished that Sophia were dead and confronted her with some harsh realities that Sophia was not capable of accepting.

It is not Holly’s fault that Sophia went along with Kristen’s idiotic plan to kill Johnny, nor that Sophia planned to fake her death and frame Holly for killing her.

But that won’t stop Holly from blaming herself and becoming even more depressed than she already is — and the worst thing is that the chances are 50-50 that Sophia is still alive.

Look, we’ve lived through this kind of nonsense before. The most similar story was Nick Fallon’s.

Gabi famously hit him with a rock when he tried to rape her at the river, and Kate and Sami helped dump the body, only for Nick to turn up alive months later and blackmail everyone involved with this mess, pushing Gabi to kill him for real.

More recently, Philip made it look like Brady had killed him and thrown him in the river to get revenge after Chloe chose Brady over him, which happens to be exactly what Sophia had planned to do before Kristen decided the rock-to-the-head idea was a great way to get revenge.

So no, I can’t trust that Sophia is anything close to dead, which means that all of these emotional scenes coming up will be hard to invest in.

Emotional scenes take energy to watch. They can leave me feeling drained if I over-identify with the characters’ pain.

I’m not complaining — as exhausting as it is, I love it when I get totally immersed in a character’s world, including their grief, pain, and anger.

But it doesn’t seem worth the emotional price to get fully invested in this story when the chances are it’s a cruel trick on the writers’ part, no matter what Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-04-26 say.

Meanwhile, There’s More Baby Drama Ahead

Alex is going to persuade Joy to stay in Salem during the week of 5-04-26 — who didn’t see that one coming?

There wouldn’t be much of a story if Joy told Alex about her baby and then followed Jeremy back to New York, even if she and Jeremy have far more chemistry than Stephanie and Alex.

Are you enjoying the Joy baby drama story?

Jeremy disappearing annoys me — he was in the middle of a story — but he’s gone, at least for now, and Stephanie and Alex need to pick up the pieces of the mess he made with his manipulations.

Hopefully, there will be something more for Joy to do besides wander around Salem with the baby, but in the meantime, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-04-26 promise that Alex and Justin will bond over fatherhood issues.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

Although Alex is not my favorite character, I always enjoy his scenes with Justin. I’m pretty sure Alex was a surprise baby, too, so he and Justin will have a lot to talk about.

Hopefully, they won’t get interrupted by Bonnie’s nonsense. Fortunately, there are no Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 5-04-26 about Bonnie accusing Alex of betraying her because Titan is suing for plagiarism!

Of course, Stephanie will vent to Jada about the baby’s existence, which pretty much guarantees another fight when she and Alex come home.

This storyline annoys me.

First of all, Stephanie’s PTSD is far less of a problem than it should be at this point. She was semi-cured solely to make room for her to fight with Alex over Joy’s baby.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

I also hate the trope that Days of Our Lives uses all the time about fathers who are dating other women.

Literally every time someone is in a situation where they had a baby with one person and are dating/married to someone else, the story devolves into the parents getting back together just because they had a child together.

The only time that hasn’t happened in recent memory is with Tate and Sophia, and he turned out not to be the father, so it was a moot point.

People can co-parent without being romantically involved, and sometimes that’s what’s in the child’s best interest. It certainly seems to be that way for Sarah and Xander.

So can we please get into the 21st century and stop promoting this ridiculous trope?

There are a few more random spoilers for Days of Our Lives during the week of 5-04-26, including Johnny and Chanel comforting each other, Leo reaching out to Javi, and Theo being conflicted about his mother’s return. Additionally, it seems the will reading is set to start on Friday.
