The first look at Prime Video and Deadpool director Tim Miller’s upcoming animated anthology series Secret Level was unleashed at this year’s Gamescom, but while fans were enamored by the digital artistry and action on display, it seems we may have missed the appearance of one of the most famous stars in Hollywood. Amid the footage, a character that looks a whole lot like John Wick star Keanu Reeves appears, seemingly confirming that the breathtaking star of The Matrix and Constantine will feature in the Armored Core-based episode.

A third-person shooter video game involving giant robots known as mecha, Armored Core was developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation. The first game was released way, way back in 1997, and takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which a mysterious “cataclysm” has forced humanity underground.
It’s not yet known exactly what Armored Core story the Secret Level episode will tell, but it certainly sounds like the perfect sci-fi action story for Keanu Reeves to tell. His role in Secret Level is far from the actor’s first foray into the world of video games, with the John Wick star having famously played the character Johnny Silverhand in the hit RPG Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt.
Secret Level Will Feature Episodes Based on a Whole Host of Video Game Favorites
The video game-based series comes courtesy of the team behind the hit Netflix animated anthology series Love, Death + Robots, and sees Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio producing the project, which hails from creator and executive producer Tim Miller, with Dave Wilson serving as executive producer and supervising director. From the creative minds behind LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS, each of the 15 episodes is a celebration of games and gamers. Games that inspired the 15 epic stories include Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, various PlayStation Studios games, Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament and Warhammer 40,000.”
As for Keanu Reeves, the beloved action star has plenty of other projects in the pipeline outside of the digital world of Secret Level. The actor will return as John Wick in the upcoming spinoff Ballerina (as well as in a possible John Wick 5), and is due to star in Jonah Hill’s black comedy Outcome, the comedy Good Fortune from writer and director Aziz Ansari, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, in which he will voice Shadow. If that were not already enough for fans of the breathtaking actor, Reeves is also due to lead both a live-action and an animated adaptation of his Boom! Studios comic book, BRZRKR.
Secret Level
is due to debut on Prime Video on December 10.
